Many Creators Update users confirm the following solution offered by Insider Alex Appleton does the trick. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Download Psexec and DB Browser for SQLite and install them

And error 0x80070070 – 0x50011 (0x50012 or 0x60000) typically means that your PC doesn’t have enough space available to install the upgrade.

On the other hand, the “Current Branch for Business” gets feature updates when Microsoft confirms that features are ready for enterprise deployment. If you want to delay updates as long as possible, you should considering selecting this option.

If you’re running Windows 10 in the “Current Branch”, you can defer feature updates for up to 365 days since the day it was original released. In the “Current Branch for Business”, you can also defer updates for up to 365 days, but devices in this level get new features update 4 months after the “Current Branch”. Therefore, in the Current Branch for Business, you can defer feature updates up to 16 months.

To defer feature updates using the Settings app, do the following:

Under Choose when updates are installed, select the readiness level: Current Branch or Current Branch for Business.

Select the number of days up to 365 days.

Quick Tip: To delay a new version of Windows 10 as long as possible, select Current Branch for Business and select 365 days. These settings will block new feature updates for 16 months.

Once you completed the steps, Windows 10 will not download and install new versions until after the defer time you specified.

It should also be noted that there is an option to defer quality updates (those updates you get every month), but you can only delay these updates up to 30 days. However, you can use the Pause Updates option that temporarily prevents new updates from being installed for up to 35 days.

How to defer Windows 10 Fall Creators Update using Group Policy

The easiest way to defer the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is using the Settings app. However, it’s also possible to use the Local Group Policy editor to achieve the same result with the difference that you can also pause feature updates for up to 60 days.

To defer feature updates using the Local Group Policy editor, do the following:

Use the Windows Key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.

Turn on the Set as metered connection toggle switch to enable and restrict background data usage.

If you want set a Ethernet (wired) network connection as metered, do the following:

Open Settings.

Turn on the Set as metered connection toggle switch to enable and restrict background data usage.

This method will block all kinds of updates, meaning that your computer will be unprotected until you disable the metered connection.

It’s official, Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is the name for the next major update of Windows, and it’s expected to arrive in September. You read it correctly, instead of using a different name, Microsoft is using “Creators Update” again as part of the new name.

The Fall Creators Update is the fourth feature update Windows 10 is receiving since it was first released two years ago, and it’s focus on adding new experiences and expanding functionalities to iOS and Android devices.

Here are the new features that Microsoft announced during the conference:

Fluent Design System

Starting with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, Microsoft is introducing a new design language officially known as “Microsoft Fluent Design System” (formerly known as Project Neon). This new design language will be integrated into the OS and apps, and according to Microsoft, it’ll deliver a more intuitive, responsive, and inclusive cross-device experiences and interactions.

In other words, Windows 10 and apps will just look prettier with new translucent, blur, and animation effects.

Microsoft Graph

The new app using artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically find relevant content on your collections to create video stories with soundtrack, theme, and transitions. You’ll be able to keep the suggested videos, delete, or edit them to your liking.

You’ll also be able to use Remix 3D and Paint 3D in your Story Remix project to add 3D, animations, and effect to your movies. It’s even possible to pin objects or draw into scenes, similar to how Snapchat’s new augmented reality lenses work.

Windows Store

Microsoft has also announced that the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will bring a number of new apps to the Windows Store, including iTunes with complete support for iPhone and other Apple devices on any Windows 10 and Windows 10 S devices.

Autodesk will expand support Windows Mixed Reality bringing its 3D game engine and real-time rendering software, Stingray to the Store. And SAP will be bringing its SAP Digital Boardroom app to the Store as well.

Linux on Windows

While you can already use Bash on Ubuntu on Windows 10, the Fall Creators Update will bring SUSE Linux, and Fedora Linux, which you’ll be able to download from the Store.

Mixed Reality

In addition, the company will be shipping a set of new motion controllers to use with new experience with no markers required. This means that the controllers are standalone devices, and you won’t need to install sensors around the wall to use Windows Mixed Reality.

It seems like in the ’90s, no house was complete without a display cabinet filled with tchotchkes.

My house had a few. In fact, my dad gave me a small display cabinet when I got married.

Display cabinets have since gone out of style, but when I saw one in a thrift store, I had to have it.

Maybe I felt nostalgic, maybe the ’90s are back. Who knows?

Even the thrift store employees seemed confused as to why I bought it. But I had a vision to completely modernize it.

I could see that behind its sad brown existence, this display cabinet wanted to be beautiful and could be with a bit of work.

Clean the furniture.

It’s a bit smelly, but not super toxic. Use a chip brush with it and have ammonia on hand to clean the brush.
