About Smart HDRHigh dynamic range (HDR) is a computational photography technique that improves the dynamic range of high-contrast situations by taking multiple photos in rapid succession at different exposures and blending them together. HDR was a hit and miss until it wasn’t. As iPhone has gotten more powerful, so has HDR.
And when the Cupertino company debuted its machine learning-focused Neural engine in last year’s A11 Bionic chip, HDR became so good that all iPhones from iPhone 8 onward default to HDR imaging for the rear camera and front-facing camera “when it’s most effective.”
How to disable Smart HDROn 2023 iPhones, Smart HDR is always on and no longer saves the normally exposed photo alongside its HDR version. To disable Smart HDR and re-enable manual HDR, do the following:
1) Open Settings on your iPhone XS or newer.
2) Choose Camera from the list.
3) Slide the switch Smart HDR to the OFF position.
From now on, your iPhone will no longer use Smart HDR “when it’s most effective”.
With Smart HDR off, the yellow HDR button will reappear in the Camera app. Like before, tap the button to manually control HDR imaging by choosing:
On: Use HDR when taking an image
Off: Your photo will be snapped without HDR

You may want to disable Smart HDR if you’re shooting scenes in low-light or high contrast situations but it’s not yielding desired results. The vast majority of normals, however, won’t have any need to change the default setting.

Using manual HDRAs we mentioned, the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus models are the first iPhones to features automatic HDR mode, called Auto HDR, stemming from their fast processors with Apple’s Neural engine that accelerates machine learning tasks like computational photography.
On these devices, disable automatic HDR by turning off Smart HDR in Settings → Camera.
On models older than 2023’s iPhone X and iPhone 8, you get manual HDR, just like before, that is on by default. To disable the feature in the Camera app, tap HDR at the top of the and choose Off (or disable HDR imaging permanently in your camera settings).
If you’d like your iPhone to save both the HDR and non-HDR versions of the image, be sure that the option Keep Normal Photo has been turned on in Settings → Camera.

How To Disable Timeline On Windows 10
Timeline on Windows 10 is a feature that leverages the Microsoft Graph and allows you to get back to activities (for example, app, document, website) you were working in the past. These activities could have been started on the same computer or other devices, such as a laptop, tablet, and even your phone that are connected with the same Microsoft account.
The only caveat is that in order to resume tasks across devices, Windows 10 has to track your PC activities, which for many users isn’t a big deal, but for others it can be a privacy or security concern.
In this guide, you’ll learn the steps to disable activity history which also disables Timeline on Windows 10.
How to disable Windows 10’s Timeline using SettingsUse these steps to turn off activity history on Windows 10:
Clear the Store my activity history on this device option.
Clear the Send my activity history to Microsoft option.
Under “Show activities from accounts,” turn off the toggle switch for all your accounts.
Jump to another settings page, and then come back to the “Activity history” page to refresh the page and make the option to delete your history available.
Once you complete the steps, Windows 10 will no longer be able to collect activities on your device nor you’ll be able to resume tasks on other devices using Timeline.
It’s worth noting that this feature doesn’t clear of the data Microsoft collects about you, “Activity history” only deletes “pick up where you left off” related items.

In Windows 10 the Action Center or the Notification Center is one of the new notable features. Unlike in Windows 8, the notifications actually stay there until you clear them. This is a big improvement over the previous versions of Windows, and having a unified notification center that can be used by all apps alike is helpful.
But if you are someone who is looking for a way to disable the Action Center in Windows 10, then here is how you can do it easily in two different ways.
Disable Action Center Using Windows RegistryDisabling the Action Center in Windows 10 using the Windows Registry is easy and applicable to both Pro and Home users. To start, press “Win + R,” type regedit and press the Enter button.

Now, rename the key as “Explorer.” Once renamed, this is how it looks like in your Registry editor.
Rename the key to “DisableNotificationCenter.” By default, the value data is set to “0” which simply means that the Action Center is enabled.
You’ve successfully disabled the Action Center in Windows 10. Just restart your system to see the changes.
As you can see, the Notification icon has completely disappeared from the taskbar, and you can no longer access it or the shortcuts to different options provided by the Action Center.
If you want to you can easily revert back either by changing the Value Data back to “0” or by simply deleting the newly created value.
Disable Action Center Using Group Policy EditorYou can also disable the Action Center using the Windows Group Policy Editor, but this approach is only applicable to Pro users. To start, press “Win + R,” type gpedit.msc and press the Enter button.
The above action will open the Group Policy Editor. Navigate to the following group:
Once you are there, scroll down in the right pane and find the “Remove Notifications and Action Center” Policy.
It is that simple to disable Action Center in Windows 10. Just restart your system to make the changes take effect.
If you ever want to revert back, simply change the option either to “Not Configured” or “Disabled.”

What Is Fast Startup In Windows And How To Enable Or Disable It
One of the newer additions to modern versions of Windows is Fast Startup. This feature claims to speed up your boot time, so you spend less time waiting for your computer to boot and more time using it. Windows machines typically have this feature enabled by default, so users may already be experiencing fast boot times without realizing it. While it may sound like a great feature, there are a few cases where you may want to consider disabling Fast Startup.

What Does Windows Fast Startup DoTo understand why someone may want to enable or disable Fast Startup, we have to first understand what is going on under the hood when it’s enabled. What causes the boot time to speed up?
When Fast Startup is enabled, the computer doesn’t perform a cold shutdown. Instead, it stores system files in a hibernation file before turning itself off. When you reboot the PC, it accesses the hibernation file and resumes your session from the data contained there. The PC doesn’t have to reload everything from scratch, resulting in a faster overall boot time.
Overall, this works as a hybrid of a cold shutdown and hibernation. Because it requires Windows’s hibernation capability, Fast Startup can only be enabled if hibernation is turned on.
Why Disable Fast Startup?A faster boot time sounds like a great feature to have, so why would you want to disable it?
Some device drivers may greatly dislike being put into hibernation. As a result, they may cause strange things to occur, such as making the device act funny or even crashing the computer. Because your computer isn’t shutting down fully, these devices are being brought in and out of hibernation and causing issues.
It’s worth noting, however, that if you restart the PC with Fast Startup enabled, it will perform a cold shutdown anyway before booting back up again. This is helpful if you want to give your system a proper shutdown, such as when you’re updating software.

Should Fast Startup Always Be Disabled?No! Fast Startup can cause issues, but it doesn’t need to be disabled if you don’t have any problems with it. If you’ve used a Windows machine for a while without experiencing any issues, you can keep it enabled and enjoy the extra time shaved off your boot process. Just keep in mind that if you want to access the hard drive from outside Windows (such as when running an SFC scan), you won’t be able to.
If you’re noticing issues, such as driver BSODs or devices not working as they should, try disabling Fast Startup and see whether it can help. This is especially true if you notice these problems vanish after you restart the PC and trigger a proper shutdown. If you absolutely want to dual-boot or access your hard drive outside of the Windows environment, you should disable Fast Startup.
How to Enable or Disable Fast StartupBefore you enable Fast Startup, you need to ensure that hibernation is enabled, as Fast Startup will not work without it.
