How to Block Subreddits Using the Old Reddit

After the site’s makeover in 2023, Reddit users were split into two categories: those who enjoy the new redesigned site and those who prefer the Old Reddit.

If you’re one of those people who think that Old Reddit did it better and prefer to keep using the old version of the site, the process of blocking subreddits is a lot easier. To filter out the subreddits that you don’t want showing up in your r/all list anymore, follow the steps below.

Open the Old Reddit website and log into your account.

Go to your r/all page to see all of the most popular posts on Reddit.

On the right side of the screen, just below the search bar, find the filtering menu. Enter the names of the subreddits that you don’t want to be displayed in your r/all list and select the plus icon to confirm.

You can now see the names of the blocked subreddits in the list on the right side of your screen. That means that all the content from them is now filtered out from your r/all page.

If you’re new to Reddit or prefer using the new version of Reddit, you probably noticed that blocking subreddits from your r/all list isn’t that easy. Even if you log into your account on the Old Reddit site and block certain subreddits, the new Reddit will still display them in your r/all list.

They’re compounding your email overload without bringing anything useful or valuable to the table.

If you find you’ve signed up for many, many email newsletters too many, don’t just accept your fate—unsubscribe from the ones you no longer want or need.

There are different ways you can block them. You can try using your integrated Android options, or you can use ESET Mobile Security. It has an option where you can filter your calls and block a private number of specific numbers. There is also an option to block the calls from a specific time frame.

If you don’t feel like using a third-party app or don’t use ESET, your Android phone has an integrated option for you to block unknown numbers and any number you add to the blocked list. To start, open the phone app and tap on the dots at the top. Go to Settings and tap on the Blocked Numbers option.

At the top, you’ll see the option to toggle on the option that will block any unknown numbers. But if you also want to block a known number, you can do that by tapping on the Add a number option. Add the number and tap on the Block option to save your changes. This option works great if you can remember the number, but if you can’t, there is not much you can do.

You’ll need to go to the Recent calls list if that’s your case. Look through the list of calls, and when you see the call you want to block, tap on it, and you should see the Block option. You’ll see a confirmation message that’ll ask you if you’re sure that you want to block the number. If you change your mind and want to unlock the person instantly, tap on the Unblock button, it’ll be where the block button used to be.

If the number you want to block recently sent you a message and didn’t call, you can use the messages app to block them. Once you’ve located the message in the app, long-press on it so it’s marked with a checkmark. Tap on the dots at the top right and choose the Block option. If you open the message and tap on the dots at the top right, you won’t see the block option.

Let’s say you decided to block all unknown numbers. You can return at any time and erase a specific number by following the same steps.

You can see how well the app is blocking your calls by looking at the call log at the bottom of the Call Filter option.

Since semantic search looks for the meaning behind a search phrase, it needs terms and phrases closely related to your main keyword that help communicate that meaning.

And that’s the role of semantic keywords, to provide that meaning and help the search engine understand what your content is about.

Using our example above, we already know that the word “apple” might refer to at least three separate things: a fruit, a technology company, or a record label.

So, how does a search engine knows which one your page relates?

You guessed it, by analyzing semantic keywords.

For example, it knows that if you wrote about fruit, your content could include phrases like delicious, grown, trees, cultivars, and much more.

For a technology company, you’d probably include words and phrases like iPhone, iPad, Cupertino, Steve Jobs, innovation, etc.

And that’s where your opportunity to expand the keywords list comes in.

By finding and enriching your content with semantic keywords, you can make it more relevant to specific searches, increase the number of phrases your page could rank for, and position it for a more relevant traffic.
