Suggested March 2024 How To Be Emo Or Scene Without Parental Approval

Understand what being Emo is. An emo teen is usually quiet and introverted, as well as sensitive and thoughtful. They remain to themselves and rarely interact with anyone who aren’t in the emo scene.

To finish off your look, add a few emo hair accessories. Accessorizing with hats, hair clips, and ribbons in emo color schemes is popular.

If you want, you can get side-swept bangs. Bangs that follow your side part and sweep to the side are a popular emo hairstyle. Or you could make a deep side part in your hair for a classic emo look.

For a bold look, you can dye your hair a dark or experimental color. Emo kids frequently dye or streak their hair black or bright, experimental colors such as blue, red, or pink. This, however, is entirely optional—you are not required to dye your hair if you do not wish to. If you aren’t ready to dye your hair permanently, you can try clip-on hair extensions.

Embrace the androgyny of being Emo. Emo teens of all genders have a similar style. Haircuts, clothing, and make-up application tend to cross gender lines, resulting in a distinct and androgynous appearance.

Wear combat boots, sneakers, or canvas shoes. Because of its roots in underground music, emo teens frequently wear boots or shoes that resemble “punk” footwear. Emo footwear includes canvas shoes, combat boots, and sneakers, among others.

My Chemical Romance (MCR)

Fall Out Boy

Paramore

Jimmy Eat World

Green Day

Develop an interest in many types of music. All emo music has two characteristics in common: large, sweeping, immensely melodramatic guitar-based music, either forceful and harsh or acoustic and delicate, with confessional or directly personal lyrics, frequently about heartbreak and loneliness. Go ahead and look emo while listening to Sunny Day Real Estate. It doesn’t make you any less emo if you also have Lady Gaga, Johnny Cash, and Cannibal Ox on your playlist.

Consider learning to play an instrument. Being able to play music solo or in a band would give you a lot of credibility and would be a fun way to interact with emo more directly. Begin writing and performing your own songs, and you will be actively participating in the creative culture.

Dress in vintage or band tees. Vintage clothing, as well as clothing that promotes punk or underground music, is a popular emo style. Shop at a thrift store or a garage sale for vintage clothing that speaks to your personal style. Make a list of your favorite punk or “emo” bands and purchase their T-shirts to round out the look.

Choose dark-colored slim-fit jeans or skirts. Emo teenagers dress in form-fitting bottoms in dark colors or patterns. Skinny jeans and tight-fitting skirts are both popular choices, particularly when embellished with chains or buckles. Choose outfits that are form-fitting. Wearing tight clothes that contour to the shape of your body is part of emo fashion. Take measurements of your body and look for clothes that closely match these measurements for a snug fit.

Accessorize your look with emo accessories. Personalize your look with a few accessories after you’ve chosen an emo top and bottom. Large or studded belts, horn-rimmed glasses, messenger bags, wristbands, fingerless gloves, and striped socks are all popular accessories in the emo subculture. Pair a studded black belt with your favorite Fall Out Boy or My Chemical Romance T-shirt, for example.

Consider getting a piercing or tattoo. Piercings and tattoos are another popular emo accessory. Before getting piercings or tattoos as a teen or young adult, always consult with your guardian(s).

Apply Emo makeup (option) Apply a layer of foundation and powder to even out your skin tone. Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and use a sponge or powder brush to apply a thin, even coat to your entire face. If you want to stand out, use smoky or bright-colored eyeshadow. To draw attention to your eyes, use dark eyeliner. Thick black, blue, or violet eyeliner is a popular emo accessory. If desired, use dark or colorful lipstick. Choose lipstick that contrasts or complements your eye makeup. To finish off your look, apply nail polish. Nail polish is a popular look among emo individuals.

How To Set Up And Manage Parental Control On Mac

It was almost noon and the sun shines a little bit too bright that day. I was waiting for the red light to turn to green in that busy intersection when a tired-looking newspaper boy offers me the half-priced morning edition. The headline struck me: Facebook Murder in Australia.

The green light and loud inpatient honks came before I had the chance to even open my car window to buy the paper. So, the first thing I did after arriving back at my office was searching for that headline and found several news telling the horrid story.

Parents, start controlling your kids online activities!

One thing that I understand about the net is that you can find (almost) anything as long as you know how to search for it. This “anything” includes both the good and the bad things, and it goes both way.

The best thing that you can do to prevent strangers from getting your (or your children’s) personal information is by putting as little information as you can on the virtual world.

On the other hand, parents should also make sure that their children can only access good information. If you use Mac, one of the ways to do it is to activate “Parental Contol“. Here’s how:

Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.

Then choose “Parental Control” from “System” group.

And similar to the other items in the System Preferences, you’ll have to authenticate the changes as an admin.

My computer has only one user: me. If I want to apply the Parental Control to this account, I can. But I prefer to create a brand new user account as the parental controlled account.

After that, choose whether you want to turn the “Automatic Login” on or off. If you want maximum security, keep the automatic login on. But this is also means that you would have to go through several extra steps every time you want to change user.

Under this new user account, open the “Parental Controls” once more.

Now you can see many options available for the account. In the “System” tab, you can modify Finder to look more simple to cater young and inexperienced users.

It’s also possible to allow only few selected applications to be opened by this users. To enable this feature, be sure to give checkmark to the option and choose the applications from the list below.

The next tab – “Content” – dealing with the content of the computer and the web and how to make them safer for your kids. This is the place to control how much web that you let your children consume.

“Mail & iChat” tab is a kind of white list address book with the names of “trusted” friends on the list.

Another restrictions that you can use is “Time Limits“. Define how long you let your children use the computer, both in the weekdays and weekends. You can also set the bedtime during school nights and weekend.

The last item on the Parental Control is the “Logs“. This is the place where you can access the complete reports on your children’s computing activities. The results can be filtered by the time and the types of activities.

The Best Parental Control

Let me close today’s discussion by saying that even though all of the features of Parental Control are nice and useful, nothing can be compared to parent’s presence. The best parental control that you can apply to your children’s computing life is your own guidance.

Snapjet Prints Your Phone Photos Without Wires Or Apps

Snapjet prints your phone photos without wires or apps

Despite the growing number of smartphone photography enthusiasts, there is also a growing resurgence in interest with “instant film” printing started by Polaroid. There are many solutions out there, ranging from a dedicated camera, a bulky photo printer, or an insanely bulky smartphone case (we’re looking at you Prynt). What if you could throw out all that bulk and still have printer that works with any smartphone of any size? Well, you could do that with this Kickstarter called Snapjet, that prints instant film photos without wires, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, or even apps.

Sounds crazy right? But we sort of already have that technology in our homes or offices (or home offices) to some extent. If you’ve guessed that all in one-in-one printer sitting in the corner, you’ve got that right. Snapjet is almost like that, except in a pocket-friendly size. Snapjet basically scans the photo that is displayed on your screen and prints it out on film. All you need to do is to place your phone on the printer, display facing down, and push a button. Of course, the devil is in the details, but the theory is the same.

Snapjet uses the very same light emitted by your smartphone’s screen to expose the film lying inside. It employs micro-structured optical polymers, basically a bundle of optical fibers, to transfer that image onto the film. The printer also uses a thin sliding layer so that the whole film sheet doesn’t get exposed all at once and only in stages. The slower the sheet slides to expose the screen, the brighter the resulting photo will be. But the slower the printing will be too.

The great thing about Snapjet is that it was designed to work with almost any combination possible. It doesn’t have fixed mounts (though there seem to be guides for an iPhone 5) so it can work with any smartphone screen. Actually, the quality of resulting photo is directly proportional to the quality of the screen. The printer can also work with either Polaroid 300 films or Fujifilm’s Instax variant. Plus, the board design is also being open sourced so those who want and can will be able to build their own. There is also an OLED display, a USB port, and Bluetooth LE connectivity so that modders can also repurpose Snapjet to their hearts’ desire.

Sounds too good (or too strange) to be true? The only proverbial wart right now on Snapjet’s is that it isn’t a commercial product, at least not yet. It can only be found on Kickstarter where a limited number of $129 pledges will get you one printer, later to become $149 when the tickets run out. At the moment, they’ve just crossed barely a third of their $155,000 goal, though they still have 25 days to go to prove that there’s a market for their innovation.

How To Use A Chromecast Without Wifi

If you don’t have a smart TV, Google Chromecast offers an alternative way for you to access online content on a TV.

The handy little device hooks up to your TV via HDMI and uses WiFi to cast content from your phone to a TV or monitor. But that’s not all, there are many other cool things you can do with a Chromecast including playing games and making presentations.

Table of Contents

However, if your WiFi is weak, spotty, or you’re nowhere close to a source of wireless internet, you won’t be able to use your Chromecast device to cast your content. Fortunately, there are some alternative ways you can use Chromecast without WiFi.

How to Use Chromecast Without WiFi

You can use Chromecast to cast your favorite content from your phone to your TV without a normal WiFi setup by using:

Guest Mode in Google Home app

An Ethernet connection

A portable/travel router

Your smartphone’s hotspot

How to Use Chromecast Without WiFi Via Guest Mode

Guest Mode is a feature in Chromecast that was originally intended for guests in your home to connect to your Chromecast device and cast content, without connecting to your WiFi.  The feature offers an easy way for you to connect to your Chromecast device without a WiFi connection.

To use Guest Mode on Chromecast, the first step is to enable Guest Mode on your device. To do this, open Google Home app and tap the name of your Chromecast device.

Next, tap Settings (gear icon) at the upper right corner of your screen.

In the Device Settings screen, scroll down and find Guest Mode. If you don’t see Guest Mode, then your Chromecast device doesn’t have the feature.

If Guest Mode is listed in your Chromecast’s Device Settings, check whether there’s a PIN displayed underneath it. This indicates that the setting is already enabled, and you can proceed to cast content normally. If you don’t see a PIN underneath the Guest Mode setting, it means you can cast in Guest Mode but the setting has been disabled. In this case, tap Guest Mode and then toggle the switch to On.

Wait for it to generate a PIN and then go to the app you want to stream content from and cast it.

Use Chromecast Without WiFi from a Google Cast-ready App

If you don’t have Guest Mode, you can always cast from a Google Cast-ready app and enjoy your favorite content without worrying about WiFi.

To do this, update your Chromecast’s firmware to the latest version, otherwise it won’t work without WiFi.

Next, open a Google Cast-ready app on your device, and then tap the Cast button.

You’ll see a 4-digit PIN on your TV, which you’ll enter into the Chromecast app to connect your phone and TV or whichever devices you’re using to cast content. For example, if you use YouTube, tap on the Cast button and then tap Link with TV Code.

With the devices connected, you can now cast your content from your primary device to the screen that’s connected to the Chromecast.

Using an Ethernet Connection

Another way to use Chromecast without WiFi is by connecting an Ethernet cable.

This method is helpful where your only options are local WiFi hotspots or hotel internet if you’re traveling. In such cases, two-factor authentication, which uses browser functionality plus acceptance of certain terms and conditions, is required before you can access the WiFi.

Chromecast doesn’t have browser functionality so you won’t be able to stream content. With an Ethernet connection, however, you can connect to the internet and cast from your device to Chromecast.

For this method to work, you’ll need an Ethernet cable with a USB connection on the other end. If you’re using Chromecast Ultra, plug in the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet power adapter, and then connect the USB cable to the Chromecast. Once done, plug into the active Ethernet jack and cast content as you normally would.

Note: If you have the new Android-TV powered Chromecast, it lacks Ethernet support but you can buy a special power and Ethernet adapter for that purpose. The Ethernet power adapter isn’t included with older Chromecast models, but you can buy a third-party adapter like the Cable Matters micro USB to Ethernet adapter or UGREEN Ethernet adapter.

How to Use Chromecast with a Travel/Portable Router

A portable or travel router is a great alternative if you don’t have WiFi and want to cast content to your Chromecast device. Plus, it’s safer to use your own router compared to a local WiFi hotspot or hotel WiFi as you have more privacy, control over who can access your network, and you there are no public WiFi agreements to accept.

To use this method, you need to set up the router first, assign it an SSID (network name) and password, and then connect your Chromecast to the router via the Chromecast app on your device.

If you’re staying in a hotel, connect the router to the Ethernet connection and connect the other end to a power outlet so it doesn’t go off while you’re enjoying your favorite content. You may need to use the hotel TV’s settings menu to choose your router and enter the password.

Note: If you don’t see the router, enter the SSID and password manually through the device’s network settings. Once connected, the TV will be listed as a streaming destination via Chromecast app, and you can stream content from your device.

Use Your Smartphone’s Hotspot

If you can’t use any of the methods we’ve covered so far, you can still use your smartphone’s hotspot to cast content on Chromecast without WiFi.

To do this, you’ll need to enable the hotspot option on your smartphone so it can serve as the router. However, you’ll need a second device to join the network and connect to your Chromecast.

How to Use a Chromecast Without WiFi Via a Third-Party Service

A third-party service is a good alternative to use a Chromecast without WiFi especially if you have an iPhone, Mac, or the other methods aren’t working for you.

One of the best apps for this purpose is Connectify Hotspot, which allows you to share your computer’s WiFi or wired internet connection as a WLAN (wireless local area network) hotspot location.

To use Connectify Hotspot, download the app to your computer and set it up. Open the software and enter a name and password for the hotspot.

Select the WiFi Hotspot option, connect the device you want to cast to the network, and it will appear as a streaming destination for you to cast.

Select the device on the Chromecast app as well and stream your locally stored content to your TV.

Set Up Chromecast Without WiFi

Whether you’re traveling or can’t access WiFi for some reason, there are plenty of options that can provide a wireless internet connection so you can continue enjoying your favorite content.

If you’re having issues with your Chromecast device, check out our guide on how to reset a Chromecast.

10 Ways How To Earn Revenue Without Selling Links

Domaining : Do keyword searches in a given topic, and then register domain names that go along with these keywords. You can then resell the name to the highest bidder, either by placing a “for sale” sign on your working website or hiring a website broker to find a buyer. You’d be surprised how investing $8 into a domain and then uploading WordPress and some originial content can then turn into a $100 site, that’s a rather large return on investment.

Sell Hosting Space : Web host reselling is another way to generate income for the computer savvy. You buy the reselling account or VPS and then rent out extra space to website designers that need a host for their latest and greatest website ideas. If you know a lot of small bloggers, this can come in extra handy.

Paid VIP Subscriptions : Creating paid subscriptions to e-Books or email newsletters is an excellent money strategy for those who have a specialization in their knowledge field. For example, there are many investment newsletters that generate high incomes, but the income is only sustained if you are an expert in the field.

Again, you have to find a topic that is interesting and compelling to a broad audience, and then you must be the authority in the topic. Offering tools and other perks to your subscribers is a nice way to get them signed up and paying, especially if the savings offsets the subscription price for them.

Sponsored Reviews : Sponsored blog posts are somewhat controversial, but can be very lucrative. There are companies that will pay anywhere from ten dollars to thousands of dollars for blog writers to review their products publicly. If your blog generates a good amount of traffic, and loyal traffic at that, chances are there are companies that will pay you to review their products.

Sell a Product or Service : Selling tangible products is, of course, one of the best ways of making money online. If you can find a discounted supplier, or niche distributor, then you can find a target to which you may sell your products.

As the Internet continues to evolve, the methods of generating profits online will change as well. There are a myriad of options for you to choose, and often it is a mixture of profit opportunities that will generate the highest revenue for your website.

Diversification is really the key in this respect, so if you get booted by AdSense or the value of the links you sell begin to fall, you always have enough in the reserve tank to keep running.

How To Unbrick Or Restore T

Well, what we can do now is try to restore your Moto X back to stock using a firmware so that all bad partitions on the device are fixed and it doesn’t bootloops and restarts normally.

And well, depending on what you were trying to do, and more importantly how, it could either be soft-bricked or hard-bricked — in latter case, as sad as it is, you maybe out of luck, man!

What’s Hard-brick and Soft-brick?

Even though rare, and when you are like set to be doomed, your Moto X might get hard-bricked. In which case, the Moto X won’t boot into bootloader mode — it won’t respond to key combinations you are trying to make it to boot normally or to bootloader or recovery mode.

Hard-brick results in one dead Android device. Yes, it’s sick, and worrying. You may have to look for a JTAG service locally; the person with good knowledge of that may be able to revive it.

Hard-brick is rare, it may happen only when power supply gets disturbed of computer and/or Android device when something is being installed/updated on the device. Or, when you totally mis-do things totally recklessly. That’s why you have to be very careful with even the easiest steps.

Let’s see soft-brick now. Normally, a brick is a soft-brick, which means your device isn’t completely dead, that it is just not able to boot normally and gets stuck somewhere. And, bootloader mode is working.

How to identify bricked Moto X?

If your Moto X can boot into bootloader mode, then it means it’s a soft-brick. If it cannot, then it’s hard-bricked.

Cases of soft-brick:

Bootloop: Your Moto X is not restarting properly and gets stuck at logo, and reboots again and again on it. Mostly occurs when you flash something bad.

Corrupted but working: Your Moto X can’t power On, but is entering the Bootloader mode and/or Recovery mode on pressing the key combinations. That is, it’s responding to key combos, at the least.

Any other case: As it doesn’t matter what happened, as long as you can access Bootloader mode using the key combos specified in the unbrick Moto X guide below, you’re good — no reasons to worry!

Solution?

Just install the stock firmware using the guide below and your Moto X shall be up and running coolly soon enough! you must be able to enter bootloader mode using the key combinations specified in the guide below.

Cases of Hard-brick:

Well, if you can’t enter bootloader mode using the key combinations specified in the guide below, you got a worry — your device is hard-bricked. You can’t repair it yourself unless you are able to reboot it into bootloader mode.

Solution?

Your best hope is JTAG: find a local service provider who can use the JTAG for you and revive your dead hard bricked Moto X. You can use Google to buy JTAG and try it yourself but we don’t recommend it at all, at it requires the skills of a knowledgeable person in Electronics.

Let’s see now how to unbrick or restore or fix a bricked Moto X.

How to Restore T-Mobile Moto X to Unbrick and Fix it

  WARNING!

Warranty may be void of your device if you follow the procedures given on this page.

You only are responsible for your device. We won’t be liable if any damage occurs to your device and/or its components.

  T-MOBILE MOTO X XT1053 STOCK KITKAT 4.4.3 FIRMWARE

Before you begin with the instructions below, make sure your android device is adequately charged — at least 50% battery of the device, and your desktop PC or laptop is connected to a power source or has enough battery backup to go through the whole process below.

STEP 0: CHECK DEVICE MODEL NO.

To make sure your device is eligible with this, you must first confirm its model no. in ‘About device’ option under Settings. Another way to confirm model no. is by looking for it on the packaging box of your device. It must be XT1053!

Do not use the procedures discussed here on any other Moto X (including the Moto X variant at Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular and other International variants) or any other device of Motorola or any other company. You have been warned!

  STEP 1: BACKUP YOUR DEVICE

Back up important data and stuff before you start playing around here as there are chances you might lose your apps and app-data (app settings, game progress, etc.), and in rare case, files on the internal memory, too.

For help on Backup and Restore, check out our exclusive page on that linked right below.

► ANDROID BACK UP AND RESTORE GUIDE: APPS AND TIPS

  STEP 2: INSTALL LATEST DRIVER

RSD Lite   FIRMWARE ZIP FILE   STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Important Note: Backup important files (photos, videos, music, etc.) stored on internal SD card of your device to your PC, as flashing a stock firmware might format your phone’s internal SD card.

Extract/Unzip TMO_RETAIL_XT1053_4.4.3-KXA21.12-L1.21_MR4_CFC.xml.zip on your computer (using 7-zip free software, preferably) to get the following files:

TMO_RETAIL_XT1053_4.4.3-KXA21.12-L1.21_MR4_CFC.xml

boot.img

fsg.mbn

gpt.bin

logo.bin

motoboot.img

NON-HLOS.bin

recovery.img

system.img

[VERY IMPORTANT!] Look for the following line in the file, then select and delete it. Once deleted, save the file by pressing “Ctrl+S” on your PC.

Now boot your Moto X into bootloader mode:

Power off your device and wait for 5-10 seconds until the device is fully switched off.

Press and hold Volume Down + Power button together for a few seconds and then release them to get into bootloader mode

└ If your phone doesn’t appear on RSD Lite screen or if its status isn’t shown as “Connected”, then it means you don’t have proper Moto X drivers installed on your PC. Get them here → Moto X Drivers

When the flashing process is finished, your phone will automatically reboot.

NOTE: RSD Lite may get stuck with “Rebooting” under the Result column but that’s okay, if your Moto X has successfully rebooted then it is safe to disconnect the USB cable.
