Anxiously waiting for the release of the new Horizon Forbidden West game?
There’s a new leak that shows us a glimpse of the title’s menu screen and map.
The graphics for the new Horizon have also undergone interesting changes.
As you know, the official release date is set to be on the 18th of February.
We know that PlayStation fans will find it extremely hard to contain their excitement, with only nine days to go until the Horizon sequel will officially be launched.
And if there’s anything Zero Dawn taught us graphics-wise, is that Forbidden West will be an even bigger masterpiece than the first.
At least, that’s what everyone hopes, ahead of the release. And, if you also dreamed of catching a glimpse of the new game before everyone else, here’s your chance.
We get our first look at the Forbidden West mapYes, the title is a PlayStation exclusive, so if you are used to gaming on any other platform, such as PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, you will have to wait, or buy a PlayStation.
We know that the title will eventually become available for PC players, but it will take some time before that happens, probably one or two years.
We saw it happen with countless titles before, among which are God of War, Days Gone, Forbidden West’s prequel, Zero Dawn, and probably Ghost of Tsushima next.
A first leak, spotted by Reddit users, showed us a glimpse of what the home screen for this latest game will look like, and we even get to hear some of the ambient music.
How big is the Forbidden West map?Now, we get a taste of how massive the world for this sequel will actually be. The map itself is pretty vast and is surely very diverse in terms of scenery, as the first game has taught us.
But how big is it really? Well, according to PowerPyx’s estimates, the Horizon Forbidden West map is 24 kilometers squared, which certainly should keep us busy for a while.
Yes, it would take a long time to simply walk from one side to the other, so make sure you find a mechanical beast to tame for this long journey.
Game Director Mathijs De Jonge tells us that the setting for the game will take Aloy from Utah, USA all the way to the Pacific Coast in the West.
If you want to gauge how big this map could be in the game, the rough real-life distance between Utah and San Francisco is 906 miles.
The maps from the two games are roughly the same size. Fans and some experts actually predict this one to be slightly bigger than the first, however.
Besides the video leak, there’s a Twitter post that shows us a picture of Aloy, with better rendering, and closer to what she’s going to look like when the game will be launched.
We’re talking improved lighting and improved quality since we saw the first game trailer back in 2023, and it looks really really good.
All these improvements are mainly visible when you compare the two games. It’s pleasing to see just how far game developers have managed to improve since last time.
There are still a lot of speculations about what neat features developers will add to Forbidden West. A recent Reddit post, that got deleted in the meantime, hinted at the main character being able to fly.
Needless to say, this would make the game insanely interactive and you got a pretty strong contender for Game of The Year right there.
Now that you’ve had a quick look at what is to come, we’re sure that your enthusiasm skyrocketed and you are now much more impatient than before.

For the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 this morning several key details were leaked surrounding the release and pricing of the handset. Previous leaks suggested sizing and contents of the smartphone, closely resembling those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. This device’s specifications are only slightly different from those of the previously released handset, with a few key details in place to make this the most powerful Samsung smartphone released in history.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor – the same goes for the Galaxy S8 non-Plus, in standard size. The difference with the Galaxy Note 8, which also sports the same Snapdragon, is that there’s a bit more RAM to roll with. Instead of working with 4GB of RAM, this device has 6GB.
This device has a 3,300mAh battery according to the most recent set of leaks. That’s a bit different from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which originally came with a 3,500mAh battery. Moving away from that capacity might make sense in the public eye due to the inconvenient heat-related nature of the Galaxy Note 7 – but it’s also odd. It’s odd that the Note 8 would have a 3,300 battery since the Galaxy S8 Plus has a battery with 3,500mAh capacity. After all, it’s not the capacity that caused the fires, it was the construction of the batteries and connectors and etcetera.
The backside of this device will have a set of lenses, making it one of the few smartphones in the world to have a dual-camera setup. This setup is becoming more and more popular with the rise of Sony’s dual-camera image processing finesse, coming to brands like Apple, Huawei, and Xiaomi – amongst others.
The Galaxy Note 8 is said in Venture Beat to have a set of 2x 12-megapixel cameras with optical image stabilization, the both of them. The camera array will appear near the fingerprint sensor, which will appear in a bundle with the LED flash and the device’s heart rate sensor.

The above specifications are based on the past several weeks of leaks and insider tips from anonymous sources. Until Samsung releases the full set of specs themselves, there is no guarantee what the Galaxy Note 8 will contain. Today’s leaks tweaked what’s found above – and the same source as the cameras bit suggest the release date and pricing.
The release isn’t tacked down to a single date yet, apparently, but should appear in stores in late September, 2023. This release will almost certainly be similar to past releases on major carriers in the United States, with several colors not unlike those released in the past. Pricing is tipped at around 999 Euro. That would be $925 or so if previous pricing setups remain true, or $1120 if directly converted from Euro to USD.
Why Iwatch May Not Release Before Spring 2023
For the past year or so, Apple executives have been teasing new product categories coming in 2014.
“There will be new categories,” Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal back in February, for example. “We’re not ready to talk about it, but we’re working on some really great stuff.” Sadly, six months have already passed without a single major Apple product launch, let alone a new product category.
I’m referring to a mythical iWatch, of course, although Apple is rumored to enter new markets other than smartwatches, such as home automation accessories.
A report earlier today by KGI Securities’ pretty reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has hinted that Apple has been forced to push mass production of the iWatch back more than a month. He now expects the device to enter production as late as November.
Assuming Kuo is right, when can we expect iWatches to hit store shelves? Read on…
Let me just say it flatly: there’s no way the iWatch will release by Christmas if mass-production is kickstarting in November. For starters, companies like Apple lock their holiday lineups well before Black Friday.
For our non-US readers, Black Friday is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, which itself falls on the fourth Thursday of November. Frequently regarded as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season, Black Friday has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005.

Indeed, who wants an iPhone that’s no longer “new” for Christmas?
Apple typically releasing new category products in or around Spring is also a factor. For example, the original iPad was released on April 3, 2010. As for the original iPhone, it got introduced in January 2007 but hit the market six months later due to FCC requirements outside of Apple’s control.
The fact that we haven’t seen a single iWatch part signals that components hadn’t entered production yet. And if suppliers hadn’t really started shipping iWatch parts to Apple, and assuming assembly work won’t commence until late-November, a 2014 launch appears increasingly unlikely.
An iWatch in late-November or early-December would be a terrible timing. Worse, as Apple would have a very limited number of devices, it’d would be unable to keep up with huge demand as fans flock to buy a brand new category-defining Apple gizmo since the iPad.
As for January-February 2023 release, these are typically quiet periods of the year and therefore bad product launch months. By this logic, (again, assuming Kuo is spot on about late-November production) March or April 2023 is the soonest the iWatch would come out.
Keep in mind that the company got away with delaying Mac Pro shipments for months, not weeks, so anything is possible.

In this scenario, a November introduction right ahead of production ramp-up could help prevent leaks as much as possible while keeping the surprise factor alive. Assuming the iWatch does enter mass production in mid-to-late November, this begs the question of Christmas availability.
A very late-2014 launch with constrained supply is always a distant possibility. With that in mind, Apple could formally introduce the device in late-October or even early-November and opt to collect pre-orders in the weeks ahead. This would buy them some precious time to build enough units before first shipments start leaving docks in China.
There’s of course no telling how much demand there is for the iWatch, so maybe a few million units would be enough to survive Christmas demand after all?

So there you have it.
If Kuo is right, the iWatch probably won’t see its high-profile introduction and launch before Spring 2023 at the earliest – unless you believe that Tim Cook was (un)intentionally lying about great new products throughout 2014.
At any rate, Apple being Apple means the iWatch will release when it’s fully ready and up to Apple’s highest standards. Tim Cook & Co. don’t seem to be religiously committed to roadmaps and deadlines when it comes to category-defining product launches so I’m not surprised that the iWatch has been delayed a couple times now.
And if you think that Apple hiring senior-level iWatch executives a few short months ahead of launch is nonsensical, keep in mind that its head of iPad marketing was hired two months before the tablet’s introduction.
Kuo said the iWatch will incorporate a flexible AMOLED display, sapphire coated display cover, higher waterproof standards and brand new system-on-a-chip components. He’s also dropped estimates for 2014 iWatch shipments by 40 percent to three million units.

Weird West has quite a lot of secondary stuff to do, most of which comes from your actions. One of these is the Secret Stash quest, which players can get if they choose to have mercy on Mr Stillwater, the now disposed leader of the Stillwater gang. If you opt to rescue him, you get a friend for life and a Weird West Secret Stash side quest. However, this is not the only Secret Stash questline. Mr. Stillwater’s Secret Stash Walkthrough
Cowboys and their valuables…
You get the item from Mr Stillwater, and then see the location of the buried treasure on the map. While the game labels it as a side quest, it technically is just a treasure map type of quest. Head over to the Secret Stash marked on your map that is also highlighted blue on your map. Note, this is the one in the mountains.
Once you have the free time to explore the map, you can then head to the Secret Stash location. Note that the name Secret Stash appears in all the treasure maps missions in the game. In this instance, it is the one in the mountain.
According to the sheet and the side mission’s objectives, you need to visit the grave of a civilian called Wayne. Upon arriving at the location, you should find two coyotes near the grave, and two outlaws on the left side of the map. Dispatch these different parties, and you should be free to dig the graves up. Find the one called Wayne Seager, and on the graveyard to the right of the zone as you load in, and you should get a Golden Ace of Spade when you dig up the corpse.
Feel free to loot the other bodies, as you may find other useful items, presuming you have a spare shovel, though, there should one spare towards the graveyard on the left side of the map when you walk in.
Other Secret Stash Quests in Weird West
As you play through the game, you may stumble upon NPCs you can relieve of their treasure maps. This can range to important characters, items you steal or outlaws who hid their valuables somewhere in the deserts or forests. When you get one, you can learn the whereabouts of their treasure by a new Secret Stash icon. Go to the new secret stash location and follow the instructions to retrieve the valuables.
When you’re done, remember to untick the objective of the treasure map’s secret stash so you can free up the tracking for other active quests. Please be aware that if you change character by completing a bounty act, then you lose the quest to complete the treasure hunt missions. So, complete the mission before completing hat act’s version of the main story.

Frisky February: 29 Days Of Stimulation
Frisky February: 29 Days of Stimulation Return of monthlong series of events centered on sexual health
When it debuted last year, Frisky February aimed to provide students with information about sexual health and relationships and get them talking about a topic many find hard to discuss. The monthlong series of events was so successful that it has returned to enliven the shortest month of the year. The project is sponsored by Wellness and Prevention Services at BU’s Student Health Services in partnership with several organizations across campus, among them the Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Center (SARP), and the BU Alumni Association.
This year’s Frisky February kicks off tonight with SEXTalks, a series of TEDTalk-style lectures by professors from across BU on topics related to sex, sexuality, and relationships.
“There will be a very broad range of topics, intersections between communications, public health, sociology, all of these different things and just opening up all of these disciplines to sexual health and sexuality,” says Wellness & Prevention Services health communications undergraduate assistant Ava Marinelli (CAS’17), one of the Frisky February organizers. “I think that for me as a college student, it’s really important to have these events cast in the light we do, in this really positive, fun, interactive, exploratory way.”
Among the faculty speaking tonight is Max Greenberg, a College of Arts & Sciences adjunct lecturer in sociology. Greenberg will give a presentation on strategies for discussing sex, sexual assault, violence, and masculinity with men on campus. He will discuss some of the themes from his book Some Men: Feminist Allies and the Movement to End Violence Against Women (Oxford University Press, 2023).
“I think students are really excited to learn about and talk about healthy relationships and healthy sexuality and all the topics of Frisky February,” Greenberg says. “I thought that this TEDTalk format was an exciting and different way to get into those conversations, that it would be the beginning of a good conversation that would be exciting.”
“A major goal was to have it be a really collaborative month of programming,” says Katharine Mooney (SPH’12), Wellness & Prevention Services director. “We are hoping that by partnering with other groups that aren’t necessarily associated with sexual health the way we are, we will also be able to reach a different audience or a more diverse array of students, those who might not come to a wellness sexual health event at other points in the year.”
In addition to tonight’s SEXTalk, planned are a Condom Fairy Packing Party on February 4, and on February 10, a Sex Is Like Pizza party, hosted by SARP Ambassadors, with a discussion about consent. (BU students will design a pizza with their partner and can later pick it up, free, at OTTO, 888 Comm Ave.)
“Sex Is Like Pizza is a sex-positive communication workshop,” says Sarah Voorhees, a SARP health and prevention educator. “BU students can attend with a partner or a friend to find out more about how the process of making a pizza is all about consent. Consent can sometimes be an uncomfortable topic to talk about, but if we’re having honest conversations about sex, it’s just a natural and normal part of the mix.”
“There’s a big educational component to a lot of the events that we run,” says Marinelli. “I think that framing a lot of the educational aspects that we do in this interactive and exploratory way is a great way to reach college students and get them the information they might be missing.”
Some other highlights of Frisky February: Vulva Crafts with Goddess Cecilia, a local sexual health educator, and a workshop with Kenneth Elmore (SED’87), dean of students, titled Let’s Talk about Love, both on February 11; a Safer Sex Decathlon, featuring “minute to win it” challenges, presented by Fenway Community Health, on February 18; Terrier Love: a Relationships Workshop, hosted by SARP, on February 22; and a Sex Trivia night, at Sunset Cantina, 916 Comm Ave, on February 29.
“I think for a lot of college students it’s a totally new social world, a totally new environment,” says Greenberg. “I think that Frisky February gives them places and ways to talk about things that maybe they don’t have experience talking about, and I think it helps the University communicate its hopes and expectations for the students.”
