GoToMeeting and Zoom are very good web conferencing tools, and both can be used for personal or business purposes. But if you’re choosing between GoTo Meeting vs Zoom, in this article, we will try to present all the key elements to help you make the right decision.

What should I look for in web conferencing software?

The best quality of a web conferencing tool is reliability. A tool that you can trust is better than anything, but there are a few other key elements you should consider:

Now that we understand some key aspects, let’s see how GoToMeeting and Zoom can help you.

GoTo Meeting vs Zoom: which one is better in 2023? GoTo Meeting

GoTo Meeting is a web conferencing tool with a very simple interface but plenty of features to go around whether you decide to use it for personal or corporate needs.

It is focused on security, so the screen-sharing data, keyboard/mouse control data, and text chat information are TSL-encrypted in transit and AES 256-bit encrypted at rest.

Also, they use an SRTP with AES-128-HMAC-SHA1-based protocol to encrypt video and audio data and keep them secure at all times.

You may launch meetings directly from Slack, Outlook, Chrome, or Salesforce, and there are a lot of integrations to go around.

Zoom

Zoom is definitely a much more popular web conferencing software than GoTo Meeting. The key elements that made it so loved by the users are that it has a free version and the UI are very easy to use.

However, the best part of Zoom is the integration with over 2000 third-party services and apps that can transform it into a proficient communication tool for everyone.

It comes with recording, presentation modes, file transfer, and even live transcripts that can be used for later meeting reports.

Even with a free version, you can host and participate in video meetings of up to 100 people.

⇒ Get Zoom

1. Audio & video quality GoTo Meeting – Crisp sound and HD cameras

GoTo says that their conferencing tool, Meeting, has crisp sound and excellent video quality.

GoTo Meeting provides up to 25 webcam streams, and the resolution depends on how many attendees are in the session. A single webcam stream can be up to 1280x720px (720p).

However, if you go 1 on 1, you can use the Full HD resolution of your webcam without any issues. But in the end, it all comes down to your internet connection and the webcam quality.

Zoom – Not the best at all times

We have some guides on our website on how to fix the microphone not working on Zoom, freezes, and other problems.

But the main cause of those problems was a poor internet connection, not the app itself.

Expert tip:

2. File sharing capability GoTo Meeting – No file sharing

GoTo Meeting doesn’t have a file-sharing capability, which can be frustrating for a meeting. Of course, that can save a lot of bandwidth, but it’s still pretty inconvenient to rely on other tools.

Zoom – File sharing within chat

There is even a captioning tool available to instantly share something on your screen.

3. Seamless integration GoTo Meeting – Only essentials

GoTo Meeting has only 28 third-party app integrations, among which we can highlight the Office 365 apps, Salesforce, Slack, and Calendly as the most important.

That is because GoTo Meeting is pretty new in this market, and the publishers want to keep things as simple as possible.

Zoom – The integration master

There are 2,363 apps in the Zoom app marketplace, of which 2,142 are just for Zoom Meetings. We declare Zoom the clear winner in this department.

There is little chance of not finding the integration you need. There are apps from absolutely all categories including financial, productivity, CRM, communication, office, and many others.

4. Pricing

While Zoom has a free version, GoTo Meeting only has a 14-days demo for the product.

GoTo Meeting has a professional plan starting from $12/organizer/month which can set the limit to 150 participants per meeting.

Zoom has a $14.99 Pro account that offers 5 GB of cloud storage, 30-hour meetings with up to 100 attendees, and some premium apps for free for 1 year.

Both have additional plans that you can explore further on their respective websites.

GoTo Meeting vs Zoom conclusion

Both apps are great for web conferencing, but GoTo Meeting lacks file transfer capabilities.

Also, Zoom has a free version that can be used for personal needs, while GoTo Meeting only comes with a limited demo.

Overall, Zoom comes up as a winner, but it all comes down to testing them yourself and finding the best match for your needs.

Apple Translate Vs Google Translate: Which Is Better?

With the release of iOS 14, Apple has introduced a new Apple Translate app that is competing directly with the Google Translate app (Android/iOS). The app features a clean UI with excellent features including a translate mode, the ability to save phrases, offline translation, and more. In this article, we are going to put these two apps head-to-head to see which app you should use for your translation needs. Read along as we bring you Apple Translate vs Google Translate to find out which translation app is better.

Apple Translate vs Google Translate: The One to Choose

We are going to compare Apple Translate and Google Translate on various fronts. We have created sections for each feature comparison. Here are all the points that we are going to cover in this article:

With all that said, let’s get to our comparison, shall we?

1. User Interface

While Google Translate is also easy to use, I found Apple’s design language more pleasant to use. One thing that I like more about Google Translate is the copy button that lets you easily copy translated text. In Apple Translate, you have to hold and select the text as you do anywhere in the iOS UI. It’s not hard, but it’s also not as easy as Google’s offering.

Overall, I feel that anyone can get accustomed to using both these apps in minutes. So I won’t give this point to either service. It’s just a matter of personal preference. I prefer Apple’s execution, but you might lean more towards Google’s design language. The good thing is that both apps are easy to use.

2. Language Support

On the other hand, Google Translate supports most major languages in the world. Currently, you can translate between 103 languages, a feat that Apple will need at least a few years to even come close to beating. That said, there are nuances that you should keep in mind.

Out of 103 supported languages, only 43 languages support bilingual conversations on the fly. While it is still more than Apple’s 11 languages, you should keep this in mind. The 103 language support is for text conversion and not real-time conversation translation.

3. Accuracy

This was a hard feature for me to test. It’s because Apple Translate doesn’t support any Indian languages right now. So, I didn’t know how accurate the translations it gave were. Also, since the accuracy of translation can change depending on the language you are using, it becomes hard to determine the overall accuracy of any translation app.

So, I called my friend who is well-versed in French and German, and asked him to help with the tests. According to him, both Google Translate and Apple Translate were on-par with the results. While both the apps made mistakes, they were good enough to allow you to have a simple conversation with a person in other languages.

4. Offline Support

Both Google and Apple support offline translation. This is a very handy feature as it allows you to continue the conversation without requiring any network connection. Apple supports offline translation for all its supported languages.

You will need to download the language pack by tapping on the download button before you can access this feature, so keep that in mind.

5. Other Features

Since Apple Translate is a newbie, it’s quite bare-bones in its feature set. You can either type or speak text to translate. Google Translate on the other hand has been around for years and offers way more input options.

Apart from text and speech, you can also translate the text inside images by capturing or importing photos (works with 50 languages). It also supports handwriting recognition, thus allowing you to draw text characters instead of typing (works with 95 out of 103 supported languages).

Both Google and Apple Translate allow you to favorite phrases, making it easier to access the most used phrases. But, Google also syncs the phrasebook between app and desktop, which gives it a leg up, as Apple Translate doesn’t seem to have a desktop app right now. I also love the copy button that lets me easily copy the translated phrase.

Also, Google Translate is cross-platform. That means you can use it on your Android and iOS smartphone. You can’t do this with Apple Translate as it’s only available on iOS. If you are going by the breadth of features, Google Translate is certainly on top.

Frequently Asked Questions Q. What is the most accurate translation app?

This is a hard question to answer as accuracy varies depending on the languages that you are using. That being said, Google Translate offers the best translations for the most number of languages, so it might be the one.

Q. Is there a better app than Google Translate?

Currently, there’s no better app than Google Translate. But Apple Translate is very good, and as more and more languages are supported in the future, it will give a serious completion to Google.

Q. What is the best real-time translator?

Both Google Translate and Apple Translate support real-time translation. However, Google Translate works with 43 languages when using real-time translation, while Apple’s offering only supports 11 right now. Keeping that in mind, Google Translate is the winner and the best real-time translator app right now.

Q. Is iTranslate translator free? Q. What is the best voice translator App?

Both Apple Translate and Google Translate, along with third-party translation apps like iTranslate, support voice translation. They all work great, and there is no way to crown an app as the best voice translator app as there are too many variables. Google Translate is the one that comes the closest, so you should check it out.

Apple Translate vs Google Translate: Which One to Choose

It’s clear that while Apple Translate is an excellent translation app, Google is still the king here. It not only supports more languages but also offers more input options. It also works cross-platform which is a huge benefit.

That being said, if you only use Apple devices and your needs are met with 11 supported languages, I don’t see why you need to switch to Google Translate. The biggest flaw of Google Translate is the privacy concerns that come attached with any Google Product.

So, if you don’t want to offer your data to Google, and are happy with Apple’s limited offering, stick with Apple Translate. For the rest of the world, Google Translate will still make a better travel companion.

Zoom is a leader in modern enterprise video communication and offers an easy, reliable cloud platform video conferencing platform.

In this article, we explore the reasons and solutions for the most common Zoom Meeting errors.

This includes tweaking your antivirus settings, or even checking your Internet connectivity.

Lastly, we will also talk about a Zoom alternative that you should try.

Zoom is a popular video conferencing service that offers web, desktop, and mobile applications. Thousands of people rely on Zoom Meeting every day to attend meetings remotely. However, at times the users may experience Zoom Meeting connection issues when trying to access the service.

The Zoom Meeting connection issues are usually followed by an error code, which makes it easy to diagnose the issue. Some of the most common Zoom Meeting error codes are:

Zoom error code 5000/3/4

Zoom error code  10410/2/3/4/5/6

Zoom error code  104110/11/12/14/15/16/17/18

The Zoom meeting connection issues are usually attributed to network issues or security software blocking the connection.

In this article, we have listed a couple of fixes to help you troubleshoot Zoom Meeting connection issues and error codes.

How do I fix

Zoom meeting connection issues and error codes

? 1. Check your firewall and proxy

1.1 Disable Windows Defender Firewall

1.2 Disable third-party firewall

Launch your third-party antivirus or firewall application.

Go to Firewall settings.

Turn off the firewall temporarily.

If disabling the firewall helps you resolve the Zoom meeting connection issue, contact a network administrator to check your firewall and proxy settings.

If you are the network administrator, try reconfiguring the network firewall with correct ports and destinations. You can learn more about configuring the network firewall for Zoom here.

Stuck with Zoom isn’t configured for this account error? Here’s how we fixed it!

2. Use an alternative service to Zoom

Zoom isn’t the only service of its kind, and while it is indeed very popular, there are plenty of alternatives on the market, some of which are arguably better.

One such example is Pexip, an online service that focuses on high-quality video meetings, supporting tools like Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts Meet, or Skype for Business.

And don’t forget, video meetings are supposed to be just between you and the other participants, and that is something Pexip supports, boasting enhanced security standards.

⇒ Try Pexip now

3.  Disable your antivirus software

At times, the antivirus solution installed on your computer can block outgoing connections by a third-party app. To fix the issue, disable your antivirus temporarily, launch Zoom client, and check if the connection goes through.

If the issue is resolved with the antivirus disabled, try adding the Zoom client to the whitelist or trusted applications.

3.1 Add Zoom to trusted applications (Kaspersky)

Once done, enable your antivirus again and check if the Zoom meeting network connection failed issue is resolved.

4. Check your ISP for connection issues

If the issue persists, check with your Internet service provider for connection issues.

Also, check with your ISP if you can connect to the Zoom service.

You can fix the Zoom Meeting connection issues & error codes by following the steps in this article. Make sure you contact the network administrator if you need to make changes to the firewall or proxy settings.

Peloton Vs Echelon: Which Is Better For Your Home?

Last Updated on December 5, 2023

Fitness bikes have become increasingly popular in recent times as people spend more time at home. Peloton benefitted quite a lot from this rise, as their product has become one of the most popular fitness bikes and subscription services out there.

In this guide, we will explore both Peloton and Echelon, what they offer, as well as our verdict on which is the best value for money. Keep reading to find out!

What Do They Both Offer?

Both Peloton and Echelon offer you the equipment to complete spinning classes, as well as other exercise classes you can complete at home. You buy into a subscription whereby you are granted access to lots of live classes you can attend virtually with other home exercisers.

There are also lots of on-demand classes as well as other virtual and live features like leaderboards, live routes, metrics based on performance and much more. The classes are really fun and practical and a great way to get exercise into your routine if they suit you.

Often you pay for the physical bike, and an additional purchase of the subscription necessary to attend the classes.

Design

Funnily, there isn’t too much separating the bikes in terms of design and build, bar one notable exception.

However, Peloton literally sued Echelon in 2023 for how similar their product was, inspiring a whole world of copycat products, and starting a sour legal dispute between the companies.

It’s undeniable that they are pretty similar in their design, they both have steel frames and magnetic resistance dials you physically control manually. The Peloton plus bike is a lot different to the opposition but is more expensive.

One point worth noting is that Peloton uses the ‘LOOK DELTA compatible’ cleats to fit their three-hole pedal, this does improve performance when spinning but can get in the way of circuits, something Peloton have been criticized for.

Display

The display is worth noting on both. One of the draws of Peloton plus is that the screen rotates to use for other workouts off your bike.

Echelon provides a rotating screen, while a normal Peloton bike does not, this makes circuits so much easier.

Classes

Like Peloton’s many other competitors, Echelon offers its own streaming service which provides live and on demand classes as well as leaderboards. Both offer more than just spinning classes and include strength and conditioning, cardio, and much more.

It’s hard to compete with the production quality Peloton offers, their hype and celebrity endorsement has led them to get the best of the best when it comes to production: live DJs, celebrity guests, a huge range of choice, different music and much more.

Echelon tries to bridge this gap by offering classes Peloton doesn’t, such as boxing and pilates.

Our Verdict

Both bikes offer similar things, Peloton carries with it a name and a hype that undeniably made their product great. Echelon is much cheaper, against Peloton’s legal wishes, Echelon have provided their new EX-15 model for about a third of the price that Peloton offers for their base model.

Nothing compares to the peloton experience, but if you want a simple and less expensive smart fitness bike Echelon isn’t the worst out there.

Moto G7 Vs Honor 10 Lite: Which Is Better?

Our Verdict

If you don’t mind a plastic backed phone and Honor’s software then the Honor 10 Lite is a steal at under £200. It has dual cameras and decent enough performance. Spend a little more on the Moto G7 and you get a cleaner version of Android, fluid performance and a more premium glass design.

For a few years now the Moto G series has represented good value in the Android smartphone market. Proving that you don’t need to pay through the nose to get a more than acceptable phone experience, the Lenovo-owned brand has made phones with decent build, good performance and attractive prices.

While those prices rise a tiny bit each year, the Moto G7 is still wildly affordable. Luckily for competition’s sake, Honor has emerged as a like-minded smartphone brand with similar pricing.

The Moto G7 and Honor 10 Lite are two of the best, more affordable phones going. Here we compare them to see which is best for you,

Price and availability

The Honor 10 Lite is the cheaper of the two at £199.99. It is not on sale in the US, unfortunately. It’s on sale from  Honor and  Carphone Warehouse.

The Moto G7 is a tad more at £239, or $299 in the US. It is an Amazon exclusive, meaning you’ll have to go to the retail giant for your Moto phone fix when it goes on sale on 1 March.

It’s a pretty even match. The extra £40 spend on the Moto G7 gets you a better camera setup on paper, Dolby Atmos sound, P2i water repellent coating and TurboPower fast charging,

Otherwise it’s a stalemate, with the differing processors and specs being largely comparable. These are budget phones with decent performance but corners cut in terms of display, power and camera tech to keep costs low.

Sitting pretty

For two phones of this price they also look pretty good, if quite different. The Moto G7 opts for a glass back (despite not having wireless charging) and its now familiar circular camera module with Moto logo fingerprint sensor.

The plastic backed Honor 10 Lite is a tad more garish in a silver/blue or blue hue if you don’t opt for the safer black. It scratches quite easily, but both phones come with a silicone case in the box.

Both have the newer style of notch in the shape of a teardrop. This houses the front camera and light sensors and pushes the earpiece up into the top edge of the phone’s body.

We prefer the look and feel of the G7 – even though it costs more than the 10 Lite it has superior build quality that we think is worth the extra spend. It also has the better, more future proof USB-C port rather than the 10 Lite’s microUSB.

Seeing is believing

There’s not much to call between the two displays. Both are tall 6.2in LCD screens that are, as expected for the price, capped at 1080p resolution.

This makes them acceptable for Netflix sessions though you can get crisper OLED displays with better colour reproduction in more expensive phones.

They’re also pretty good portals into the dual rear cameras of both phones – 12Mp + 5Mp on the Moto and 13Mp + 2Mp on the Honor. Two cameras means you can take blurred portrait style photos,

Phones at the price range of the G7 and 10 Lite benefit from ‘trickle down’ technology – features we see in very expensive phones that, within a couple of years, is reproduced on cheaper phones. Lovely stuff.

Neck and neck

So there are many things similar with the two phones – rear fingerprint sensors, comparable prices, screens with not much between them.

What might swing your vote – as it does ours – is the software experience. It’s quite different despite both phones running versions of Android 9 Pie.

The thoughtful inclusion of Moto additions are all found within one app and therefore are quietly implemented and controlled if you want to use them – they are also easily ignored. It’s great.

That’s not to suggest Honor’s EMUI skin is worse – it’s a matter of taste – but it’s certainly a far cry from ‘stock’ Android. It runs OK on the 10 Lite but there are duplicate apps, animations that feel a tad sluggish compared to how the G7 performs and changes to Android that we feel unnecessary.

But if you don’t mind, then the £40 difference in price that you save by going for the Honor might seal the deal.

Google Drive Vs Onedrive – Which Is The Better Cloud Service?

Cloud Storage has made maintaining and storing the data simple. In the process, it saves you the cost of buying multiple Hard Drives and other physical storage devices. Cloud computing, in general, can be defined as a system to store data on cloud servers instead of physical devices.

There are notable services in the tech industry such as Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive. In this article, we are putting neutral facts of Google Drive and OneDrive, to help you in making your decision.

OneDrive vs Google Drive comparison

Google Drive and OneDrive, for the most part, offer you the same set of features but in a different manner so let’s get to know the difference based on certain parameters. These are:

Syncing Technology and Facilities

Free Storage space availability

Collaboration

Paid storage space availability

Privacy

Back-Up limit

Let’s start with the first aspect.

1] Syncing Technology and Facilities

When we compare OneDrive and Google Drive, speed enthusiasts may find Google drive a bit inferior. As OneDrive uses a superior file syncing technology called Block Level Copying. It breaks files into smaller packages, so instead of the entire file, its fragmented packages get uploaded. Therefore, the time required for syncing is less.

On the other hand, Google Drive does basic syncing and is a little inferior to OneDrive. However, if you are an Android user, you can look past its slow speed because of the ease-of-syncing.

If you are already using the Microsoft Productivity suite, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word then syncing the file is easier in OneDrive as compared to that in Google Drive.

On the other hand, if you are using Google WorkPlace productivity suite such as Docs, Sheets, Slides then Google Drive is what you will find better.

However, if you are not able to decide whether to go for Google Workplace suite or Microsoft 365 set of applications, check out this comparative study.

Google Drive and OneDrive, for the most part, offer the same syncing facilities. You can easily sync files on the cloud with simple steps on both Google Drive and OneDrive. These files are easily accessible. So, your decision in this parameter will boil down to your priorities, whether you like speed or ease-of-syncing, whether you like Google Workplace or Microsoft 365.

2] Free Storage Space Availability

When we compare the free storage space availability, you get 5 GB of free storage on OneDrive, whereas, Google One Drive offers you 15 GB free storage space. So when it comes to free storage space availability, Google Drive offers you more space to store your data including files, media, and especially photos.

Therefore, if you are not going to buy their respective subscription, Google Drive is a straightaway winner, just because of the fact that it has more storage.

3] Paid Storage

For most users, Paid Storage will be the deciding factor. So, let us talk about that.

In the case of OneDrive, you will get two categories, For Home and For Business. If you want to buy OneDrive for your home or personal use then you have to choose between four tiers, they are:

Microsoft 365 Famly: It has a total of 6 TB and comes at $99.99 per year (or $9.99 a month and first month free).

Microsoft 365 Personal: It has a total of 1TB and comes at $69.99 per year (or $6.99 a month).

OneDrive Standalone 100 GB: It has a total of 100 GB and comes at $1.99 a month

OneDrive Basic 5 GB: It has a total of 5 GB and is free.

However, plans change if you are planning to buy OneDrive for your business. They are:

OneDrive for Business (Plan 1): It has a total of 1 TB per user and comes at $5/user/month.

OneDrive for Business (Plan 2): It has unlimited storage and comes at $10/user/month.

Microsoft 365 Business Basic: It has a total of 1 TB per user for $5/user/month for annual commitment ($6/user/month for monthly commitment), and comes with Web and  Mobile Office apps.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard: It has a total of 1 TB per user for $12.5/user/month for annual commitment ($15/user/month for monthly commitment), and comes with Office apps.

On the other hand, Google streamlines everything. You will get 15 GB of free storage and can upgrade to paid plans. The prices start from $2 (for 100 GB) and $ 9 (for 2 TB and comes with added Google Benefits.

So, the decision is up to you.

4] Collaboration

But if you are familiar with OneDrive’s Productivity apps that include PowerPoint, Excel, and Word then it may be easier for you to work on OneDrive. OneDrive also has a mobile app, just like Google Drive, to manage your data, whenever and wherever you want. But, the problem with OneDrive is that it does not integrate third-party applications.

However, in both cases, you can share your work with your colleagues. So, no winner here.

5] Privacy

On the other hand, Microsoft also has the right to scan your informational data to prevent objectional data from entering but if you are a person who wants their privacy to be protected at any cost then OneDrive is a better choice.

6] Back-up Limitation

When using Google Drive, you can back-up your contact list and calendar events along with your phone’s media with a single toggle key.

In comparison to Google Drive, OneDrive has some limitations as you can only back-up your devices’ media such as video and photos. But you can have more power over the media’s quality.

Read: Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace.

Verdict

Both OneDrive and Google Drive are good Cloud services. However, if you are in a large business then OneDrive is better because of its fast upload, more storage, and security, but for everyone else, Google Drive is a better option.

Another thing you need to make sure of before going for either of them, which productivity suite you use. For Google Workplace users, Google Drive is better, for Microsoft 365 users, OneDrive is perfect.

Hopefully, this has helped in making your decision.
