ExpressVPN is one of the best VPNs for video streaming. But many users report that its MediaStreamer feature doesn’t work with Netflix. If you’re one of these people, here’s how to fix it in just a few steps.

What does ExpressVPN MediaStreamer do?

MediaStreamer is an exclusive feature of ExpressVPN that helps you watch streaming movies and TV shows on Netflix US. It does so by using Smart DNS to spoof your location.

A Smart DNS service isn’t the same as a VPN, because it doesn’t hide your IP address, encrypt your traffic, or switch locations. More importantly, you can’t use both a VPN and a Smart DNS service at the same time.

The bottom line is that you shouldn’t use a Smart DNS to hide your web activity from your ISP. Instead, you should only use MediaStreamer to evade geoblocks when your privacy protection isn’t a priority.

Besides, it’s a good idea to try the MediaStreamer when ExpressVPN doesn’t work with Netflix.

And it’s particularly useful for devices without native VPN support. Examples include Apple TV, Samsung TV and other Smart TVs, or Xbox, PS4, and other gaming consoles.

You can effortlessly set up the ExpressVPN MediaStreamer for Netflix. It becomes problematic when the Smart DNS service stops working, however. When that happens, make sure to follow out 7 easy solutions below.

How do I fix ExpressVPN MediaStreamer not working with Netflix?

Are you sure you’re running the latest OS update on your streaming device? Check this and then reboot it before verifying the MediaStreamer.

2. Check the MediaStreamer IP addresses

Remember that you must first register your IP address on the ExpressVPN dashboard to be able to set up the MediaStreamer on any device in your home. Are you sure it’s correct?

If your ISP assigned a dynamic IP address, that could be the reason why the ExpressVPN MediaStreamer isn’t working with Netflix anymore. It’s possible that it changed in the meantime.

In that case, you should update the new IP address in the ExpressVPN dashboard. But it’s only a temporary solution since you will have to do it again as soon as your it rotates.

A better way to fix this is by requesting a static IP address from your ISP. Or, you can set up a dynamic DNS if your router and firmware allow it.

Since you’re doing this, have a look at the DNS servers you registered on your streaming device to ensure there aren’t any typos.

3. Restart your router or switch to Ethernet

Your router might be the culprit if the ExpressVPN MediaStreamer doesn’t work with Netflix. Perhaps it’s experiencing a technical issue that can be resolved by just rebooting the router.

Make sure to wait a few seconds until you test MediaStreamer again. Also, if you have a dynamic IP address, recheck if it’s correctly registered in the ExpressVPN dashboard, just in case your IP address was reset when you restarted the router.

If this doesn’t solve the problem, switch to wired mode and try the MediaStreamer again. If it works, it means that you must troubleshoot your Wi-Fi issues.

4. Check your Internet connection

If your Internet connection is too slow for streaming, this usually results in buffering. However, it can also cause the ExpressVPN MediaStreamer to stop working properly, even if it’s not as resource-consuming as a VPN.

You can run a speed test at different hours throughout the day and in the weekend to check the download and upload speed. It might also be a good idea to contact your ISP for help if you’re paying for a premium plan but receive disappointing connection speeds.

5. Set up the MediaStreamer on your router

Installing the MediaStreamer at the router level is an excellent alternative to using the Smart DNS service directly on the streaming device, particularly if the network settings of your Smart TV or gaming console are incorrect.

It’s possible to set up the ExpressVPN app on Asus routers, Linksys routers, and Netgear routers. In the next step, you just have to connect your streaming devices to the router and update the router firmware to eliminate any software compatibility issues.

6. Use ExpressVPN without MediaStreamer

It’s not ideal, especially on slow Internet connections, but there’s no harm in using the VPN connections of ExpressVPN instead of the MediaStreamer.

Remember that you can’t use both simultaneously. So, don’t forget to access the dashboard and remove your IP address before connecting to a US VPN server and trying to use ExpressVPN to watch Netflix.

Evidently, this solution won’t work on streaming devices without native VPN support. But you can either install ExpressVPN on desktop and mobile or set it up on your router to share your VPN account with all connected devices.

If everything else fails and you get the Netflix proxy error with ExpressVPN, with or without the MediaStreamer, it’s time to contact the support team. Luckily, it has 24/7 live chat support.

The problem might be that Netflix has successfully detected and blocked the IP addresses and DNS requests used by ExpressVPN. In that case, all that you can do is draw the support team’s attention and wait until the issue gets fixed.

If you haven’t already used ExpressVPN but are carefully examining your options to see which is the best for unblocking Netflix, you should know that ExpressVPN is one of the top products in the market.

Few VPN services have a Smart DNS feature that allows you to unblock streaming services on devices without built-in VPN support, and ExpressVPN is one of them, thanks to its MediaStreamer feature.

Here’s what else you should about this VPN before buying a subscription plan:

Unblocks Netflix US using VPN and MediaStreamer

Out-of-the-box router setup for Asus, Linksys, Netgear

A strict zero-logging policy

No IP, DNS, or WebRTC leaks

Screen Time Not Working, Fix

Several users have reported that they are unable to use Screen Time properly on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

“You’ve reached your limit on Chrome.”

Users have reported the following problems with Screen Time:

App and content restrictions and limits are not working in Screen Time. For example, Screen Time does not limit Safari, Facetime, Facebook, or Chrome.

Users are unable to add or modify limits, restrictions, or settings.

Screen Time reports regarding how you (or your kids) use your device are not accurate. (See also: What Do Grey Bars Mean In Screen Time Reports?)

Parental controls are not working, meaning users are unable to manage a child’s device.

Screen Time won’t turn on, the button is grayed out.

Some users have said that they have begun experiencing this problem after updating their devices.

You can use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac to set screen time limits for yourself or your child. For example, you can block Chrome easily via Screen Time to prevent your child from accessing the Internet.

Are you having this problem too? Are you having trouble getting Screen Time to work? In this article, we explain how you can troubleshoot your problems if Screen Time is not working on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

If you forgot your Screen Time password, you can reset it.

1. Check Apple’s system status page

Apple has a special webpage that lets users monitor whether different Apple services are running, currently down, or experiencing issues. This page also details. This means that if you are having Screen Time problems, it could be because of an outage. In other words, it is possible that your device may not be reaching Apple’s Screen Time service.

Here is how you can do this:

Open a web browser and visit the system status page (direct link).

Find Screen Time.

If you spot a red, yellow, or orange dot next to Screen Time, this means that Screen Time is experiencing problems. Meaning it is not working and Apple is aware of the problem, what you can do is to wait. If Screen Time has a green dot, that means that there is no problem and you should try the next tip below.

2. Update everything

Update your device(s). If there is more than one device (e.g., your child’s iPhone or iPad), update all devices. Here is how:

Then, if you are having issues with third-party apps (FaceBook, Youtube, Twitter, Games, Social Media, etc), make sure that you have the latest version of those apps as well. You can update it by going to the App Store on your Mac, iOS, and iPadOS device. The update process may be different for the apps that you have installed outside of the Mac App Store. Some apps may or may not update themselves automatically. But ensure that you are using the latest version of the app. For example, you can also update Chrome on your Mac by following the steps below:

3. Turn off, restart and turn on Screen Time

Try these three steps in this order:

If the steps above do not work, then try these similar steps, if you have a family member like your child:

4. Check the date and time

Please ensure that the date and time on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac are set correctly for your time zone. You may want to turn on the “Set Automatically” option. Here is how you can do this:

This screen will show the date and time. If they are incorrect, correct them and turn on Set Automatically. You can fix it if Set Automatically is grayed out.

If your device could not determine your location, ensure that Location Services is enabled.

If you think Location Services is not working, you can also fix that too.

Tips To Fix Precision Finding Not Working With Airpods Pro 2

When you are dealing with a pricey pair of earphones like the brand-new AirPods Pro, it’s always better to have an extra layer of safeguard against loss. After all, you never know what will happen tomorrow and you might have to run from pillar to post to get them back. To help you recover your lost AirPods, Apple has introduced the “Precision Finding” feature.

Having given a try to this well thought out feature, I can vouch for its effectiveness. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with many users who have complained that Precision Finding is not working with AirPods Pro 2. If you are one of them, try out these workable tips to resolve the issue.

Fix Precision Finding Not Working with AirPods Pro 2

When you are faced with a persistent issue like this one, it’s better to dig in and find the hurdles that could be blocking the path. Hence, let’s get through it first up!

Why is Precision Finding not Working with AirPods Pro?

Without overlooking the software glitch, you should first check off the device compatibility and availability. Just like most notable features that have graced the iOS 16, Precision Finding has also been locked to the latest iPhone models. On top of all, you should make sure the feature is available in your country or region.

As for the culprits that could be coming in the way, you can blame the poor Bluetooth connection and the bug that could be hindering Precision Finding from functioning properly.

Make Sure Your iPhone is Compatible

To begin with, be sure you have a compatible iPhone. In recent times, Apple has made most notable features like the Continuity Camera Webcam, background removal tool, Personalised Spatial Audio, and Live Text in Video exclusive to the latest iPhone models. With that said, have a look at the following list of devices that are compatible with this feature:

iPhone 11

Ensure That U1 Chip is Available to Use in Your Country or Region

U1 chip aka ultra wideband chip plays a vital role in making Precision Finding feature work with the needed accuracy. Unfortunately, it has been banned in some countries due to privacy concerns.

For those uninitiated, the U1 chip enables modern iPhones to precisely locate and communicate with other devices equipped with the ultra wideband. Moreover, it also provides enhanced spatial awareness.

What stands Ultra-wideband, an exceptionally efficient radio technology, apart is the ability to use a very low energy level for short-range.

Turn Off/On Bluetooth on Your iPhone

Since Bluetooth plays a vital role in helping Precision Finding work reliably, try turning it off/on to fix any random glitch that could have cropped up.

Now, tap on Find.

If the “Nearby” appears on your iPhone’s screen, the Precision Finding functionality is available.

Next, start moving around to locate your lost AirPods. Be sure to follow the onscreen instructions carefully

Check out the arrow that will point you in the direction of the AirPods.

Additionally, you should see the approximate distance giving a clue about how far away your earphones are.

Keep in mind that if your AirPods are placed on a different floor, a quick note may appear on the screen. As you approach your lost AirPods, you will feel the haptic feedback from your phone along with the audio cue.

What’s more, the graphic of the AirPods on ‌‌the iPhone‌‌ will also neatly shift as you approach the earphones. After you have successfully located the AirPods, Precision Finding will exit. And that’s about it!

Reboot Your iPhone

While it may sound to be quite simple, a simple reboot has done wonders in fixing many frustrating issues. Thus, it is worth trying out this nifty solution as well.

On your iPhone with Face ID: Hold down either the volume up or down button and the side button at once until the Power Off slider appears on the screen. After that, drag the Power Off slider to turn off your iPhone. Next, press the side button to restart the iPhone.

On iPhone with Touch ID Button: Press the side button to bring up the Power Off slider. Then, you need to drag the side to shut down the device. After that, press the side button to reboot the iPhone.

Make Sure the U1 Chip is Enabled on Your iPhone

Not many folks know that there is a hidden setting for the U1 chip. While customizing the setting of your iPhone, you may have accidentally disabled it. So, ensure that the U1 chip is active on your iPhone.

Now, scroll down to the bottom and tap on System System. On this screen, you should see a long list of system services. Find the Networking & Wireless option and ensure that it is turned on.

Reset Network Settings

If your iPhone is faced with network-related issues, Precision Finding won’t be able to work properly. One of the best ways to resolve network-related problems is to reset the network setting. Knowing how effective it has always been, you should give it a try without fail.

Now, input your device passcode. If prompted, enter the Screen Time passcode as well. Then, hit Reset Network Settings to confirm the action.

Reset Your AirPods Pro

Probably the easiest way to fix all-functioning AirPods is to reset them. The reason why I can vouch for this radical solution is that it has rescued me on several occasions. So, I’m not going to miss out on this one.

To get going, put the AirPods in their charging case and close the lid. After waiting for about 30 seconds, open the lid of the charging case.

Make sure the AirPods are connected and then put the earphones in your ears. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on the AirPods tab under the Apple ID banner.

Tap on Forget This Device and confirm the action.

Now, put the AirPods in the charging case.

Ensure that the lid of the charging case is open. Hold down the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds. Be sure to press the setup button until the status light on the front of the case starts flashing.

It’s time to reconnect your AirPods with your iPhone. Make sure the AirPods are placed in the charging case and the lid is open.

Place the AirPods close to the iPhone and then go through the instructions to complete the setup process.

Reset All Settings

Yet to get the better of the issue? No worries! Now, we will factory reset the iPhone and then reconnect the device to the AirPods.

Now, reconnect to the AirPods and then check if Precision Finding has started to work properly.

If the Precision Finding feature still seems to be broken, a software bug could be behind the issue. But fret not, this is where software update has a role to play.

If you are wondering how to update the connected AirPods, let me tell you that the earphones are updated automatically while they are charging and in the Bluetooth range.

How To Fix Instagram Tagging Not Working

Are you trying to tag someone on Instagram but the tagging is not working?

Many Instagram users reported that when they tag someone, it disappears.

Lastly, some people mentioned that their friends can’t tag them in their picture.

It can be frustrating because tagging someone is crucial on Instagram as people want to know who the people in your picture(s) are.

It also gives recognition to the people that are in your picture.

In this article, you’ll learn why you can’t tag people on Instagram and how to fix it.

Why can’t I tag people on Instagram?

You can’t tag people on Instagram either because the person has disabled tagging, your account is new, or you tagged too many people in your picture.

Tagging is not working on Instagram either due to disabled tagging, a new account, or you’ve tagged too many people.

If tagging is not working for you, you need to first figure out the main cause of the error.

After you figured out the main issue, then you can take the appropriate action to solve it.

Instagram is known for having many glitches/bugs in their app, and tagging is one of them.

The worst part about this is that Instagram doesn’t provide any information on what causes the error.

Hence, this article compiles the most well-known causes for the error, and how you can fix it.

Let’s get to each one of those causes in detail below.

1. Disabled tagging

The first reason why tagging is not working on Instagram is that the user that you’re trying to tag has disabled tagging.

If the user that you’re trying to tag has enabled “manually approve tags” in their privacy settings, their tag won’t show up on your post unless they approved it.

Instagram has a feature where users can control who gets to tag them in posts.

You can do that by enabling the feature called “manually approve tags” in your privacy settings.

If the person that you’re trying to tag has enabled that feature, the tag won’t show up on your post unless they approved it.

At times, the person might have forgotten or is yet to approve the tag.

Other times, the person might have missed the notification, which explains why the tag doesn’t show up on your post.

Either way, if someone has enabled “manually approve tags” you’ll have to wait until they approve it in order for their tag to show up.

Otherwise, only the tags of people who’ve disabled the setting will appear.

2. Your account is new

Next, your account might be too new.

New accounts have restricted actions such as the number of people they can follow/unfollow, the number of posts that they can like, and limited tagging.

If your account is too new, you may not be able to tag people in your posts.

Many people have reported that they couldn’t tag people in their posts in a new account.

Instagram aims to reduce spam, bots, and automation in their platform.

As such, Instagram has many temporary blocks that prevents actions from being repeated.

An example of such blocks are limited tagging.

New accounts are restricted in terms of how many people you can follow/unfollow, the number of posts you can like, and so on.

It’s sort of like a “sandbox” where a new account’s actions are restricted in order to prevent platform misuse.

So, if your account is new, you may not be able to tag people for the time being.

3. You tagged too many people

Lastly, you might have tagged too many people on your Instagram post.

You can only tag up to 20 people on your Instagram post.

The maximum number of people you can tag in a single post is 20.

If you tag more than 20 people on Instagram, you may not be able to post the picture.

There’s a limit to how many people you can tag in an Instagram post because Instagram wants to reduce spam on their platform.

Carousels are no exception as well.

Even if you have multiple pictures on your carousel, you can only tag up to 20 people in total—it’s not a per-post basis.

How to Fix Instagram Tagging Not Working

To fix tagging not working on Instagram, you can either try asking the person to approve your tag, waiting for 1 to 3 weeks, or not tagging too many people.

You can also try following the person before tagging them on your post.

Try asking the person to approve your tag, waiting for 1 to 3 weeks, not tagging too many people, or following the person before tagging them.

If your account is new, the number of actions you can carry out is limited.

This includes limited tagging, or the inability to tag others.

However, if your account is an old one, tagging might not be working for you because you’ve tagged too many people.

Otherwise, the person might have enabled “manually approve tags” in their privacy settings.

In that case, you’ll have to ask them to approve your tag.

Otherwise, their tag won’t show up/disappear on your post.

1. Ask the person to approve your tag

The first method to fix failed tags on Instagram is to ask or wait for the person to approve your tag.

If the person that you’re trying to tag has “manually approve tags” enabled in their settings, you need to ask them to approve it for it to show up on your post.

This method is only applicable to people who’ve enabled the “manually approve tags” feature in their privacy settings.

If you happen to see someone’s tag disappear on your post, then the person might have enabled the “manually approve tags” feature.

If that’s the case, you have to first ask them whether they have that feature enabled.

In the event that they have it enabled, ask them to approve your tag via the same setting.

Otherwise, you just have to wait for them to approve it.

Once they approved your tag, it will show up on your post.

Their tag won’t show up on your post unless they’ve approved it.

2. Wait for 1 to 3 weeks

For newer accounts, you may have to wait 1 to 3 weeks for tagging to be enabled on your account.

Tagging is limited/restricted for new accounts on Instagram so you might have to wait for 1 to 3 weeks if you want to tag others.

If your account is new, tagging might be restricted for you.

Instagram restricts the number of actions a new account can carry out, which includes limited or restricted tagging.

To bypass this, you can try following the person (if you haven’t already) before tagging them on your post.

As a new account, you may not be able to tag people who you’re not following.

Hence, you can try following them before tagging them in your post which may fix the tagging issue.

Otherwise, you have to wait 1 to 3 weeks for Instagram to “trust” your account.

After 1 to 3 weeks, you’ll have increased limitations (such as tagging) and you’ll be able to carry out actions like a normal account.

3. Don’t tag too many people

Lastly, you need to refrain from tagging too many people on Instagram.

Don’t tag more than 20 people on Instagram.

If you tagged more than 20 people, remove the additional tags and you should be able to post the picture.

If you tag too many people on Instagram, your tags might disappear/not show up on your post.

The maximum number of people you can tag on a post is 20.

If you’re posting a carousel, the maximum number of people you can tag is also 20.

So, even if you have 5 pictures on a carousel, you can only tag up to 20 people and not 100.

Tagging on Instagram is not limited on a per-post basis, but for all of your posts if you’re posting a carousel.

If you happened to tag more than 20 people, you need to remove the extra tags for it to post.

Conclusion

Tagging on Instagram is important as you’re introducing the people on your post.

In other words, tagging is a form of etiquette on Instagram.

If you don’t tag people that appear in your post(s), it may seem rude to them.

Unless the person specifically mentioned not to tag them on your post(s), then you should tag them.

At times, tagging might not work as intended on Instagram.

If that’s the case, then you need to follow the methods that are mentioned in this article to fix it.

Facetime Not Working On Iphone? How To Fix!

FaceTime is one of the most loved audio & video calling apps among Apple users. It also lets you share your screen, watch movies with your friends in real time, and do much more. Although FaceTime is an incredible app, there might be times when you just can’t make or receive FaceTime calls on your iPhone. We know how frustrating it is, we all have been there at some point. But you can put all your worries at rest as we have curated a complete troubleshooting guide with the best ways to fix FaceTime not working issue on iPhone and iPad.

1. Verify If FaceTime Is Available in Your Region

If you can’t make FaceTime calls on your iPhone or iPad, the first thing you need to know is that FaceTime isn’t available in all countries and region. Also, not all the network carriers support FaceTime. To check if FaceTime works in your region with your network provider, head to Apple’s official wireless network support page.

Notably, FaceTime is not available in UAE, Qatar, and China. If your country doesn’t support FaceTime, you won’t be able to use it on your iPhone or iPad. That being said, you can always use a VPN to bypass these FaceTime restrictions.

2. Check If You’ve Enabled FaceTime

Alternatively, you can open the FaceTime app and hit the Continue button to activate and use it.

When you do it, you might see a “Waiting for Activation” message. Generally, this process should take a minute or two. In some rare cases, you might see a message saying, “Activation Unsuccessful”, “An error occurred during Activation” or a similar message. If FaceTime is not activating on your iPhone, you can head over to the next solution.

3. Use the Right FaceTime Settings

The next step is to check whether you’ve entered the right contact details to make & receive FaceTime calls on your iPhone. Also, make sure you have got the correct FaceTime contact details for the person you’re calling. To check your FaceTime details, follow the below steps:

3. To remove a number or email address from FaceTime, tap on it and hit the Remove option.

4. Next, in the Caller ID section, check if there’s a tick next to your phone number or email address from which you want to make FaceTime calls.

4. Disable and Re-enable FaceTime

One of the quickest and easiest ways to fix FaceTime not working on iPhones but working on iPad is to disable and re-enable the FaceTime option. It will fix any minor glitches that might be responsible for FaceTime not connecting on iOS devices.

5. Check the Internet Connection

We know FaceTime uses the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to make and receive calls. If you’re stuck with FaceTime not connecting issues, you must check your internet connection.

If you are on a Wi-Fi network:

Toggle the Wi-Fi option on your iPhone

Forget and reconnect to the Wi-Fi network

Restart router

Update iOS

If you are using Mobile Data:

Double-check that you’ve enabled Cellular Data for FaceTime.

Toggle the mobile data option for FaceTime.

Check if you’ve got an active data plan. If the plan/data is exhausted, renew it.

There could be some temporary network issues. Check if your friend or family member who’s on the same network is able to use mobile data. If the concern is mutual, wait for some time, and then retry it.

6. Restart Your iPhone

This trick might sound old-school, but it is still one of the best ways to fix a buggy app or troubleshoot common iOS problems. So, if your FaceTime app keeps crashing on iPhone 11 or FaceTime shows a black screen on iPhone 12, restart your device. It will remove minor bugs and reinstate RAM to give a clean start to your iPhone.

Turning off iPhone X or later models: Press and hold the side/power button and either of the volume keys until you see the Power-off slider.

Sometimes you might encounter situations where the FaceTime app becomes unresponsive, the iPhone display freezes, and you can’t even reboot your device. In this particular case, you need to force restart your iPhone.

Force Restart iPhone 8 or newer models: Quickly press & release the Volume Up buttons and do the same for the volume down button. Then, press & hold the side/power key until you see the Apple logo.

Force Restart iPhone 7 & 7 Plus: Press and hold the volume down and side/power keys until the Apple logo appears.

Force Restart iPhone 6s or older models: Press & hold the home and side/power buttons until the Apple logo is displayed.

7. Check for FaceTime Outages

To verify, visit the Apple System Status page. It will show the current status of Apple services, recent outages, and scheduled downtimes. If there’s any issue with a service, it will be marked Yellow. Whereas, the perfectly fine working services will show a green blob. If there are no outages and FaceTime still won’t work on iOS 16, move to the next step.

If you’re wondering why my FaceTime is not working on your iPhone 14 or older models, you need to ensure that you have set the date and time to adjust automatically on your device. We’re saying this because any mismatch between your iPhone’s date & time and the FaceTime server’s date & time can impact network functions like phone calls, iMessage, and FaceTime.

While most people set time zones automatically, it’s a good idea to cross-check the date & time settings on your device. Here’s how to do it:

9. Test Your iPhone’s Camera & Microphone

If the FaceTime camera is not working on iPhone 12 Pro or FaceTime audio is not working on iPhone 13 or other models, there might be some issue with your device’s camera or microphone. To test this, simply open the Camera app and record a short video using the front camera. Then, play that video to check if the audio and video are fine. If they aren’t, you should fix Camera app issues to make FaceTime work on your iPhone.

Moving on, many iOS users have reported that they can’t see the other person on FaceTime. If FaceTime is showing only initials to you, ask the other person to check if he has enabled the camera for that FaceTime call.

10. Disable Content Restrictions

If you can’t see the FaceTime app on your iPhone or FaceTime isn’t available in your iPhone settings, you might have enabled Screen Time restrictions. There can be instances when you’ve disabled FaceTime or Camera from the list of Allowed Apps in Screen Time settings. When you do it, FaceTime might become limited or won’t show on your iPhone at all.

If you haven’t enabled Screen Time, just skip this step.

3. Enter the Screen Time passcode and ensure the FaceTime, SharePlay, and Camera options are turned ON.

11. Check Group FaceTime Compatibility

If you can make one-on-one FaceTime calls but Group FaceTime isn’t working on your iPhone, the first thing you should do is check the device you’re using. For reference, Apple introduced Group FaceTime calls with iOS 12.1.4 for the following devices:

iPhone 6s or newer models

iPod Touch (7th Gen)

iPad (5th Gen), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4, or later

Mac running macOS Mojave 10.13.4 or later

So, if you’re using an older device or iOS version, Group FaceTime will not work for you. If you have got a compatible device, make sure to update iOS. Don’t forget to cross-check these requisites with all the members of your group call. The problem might be at someone else’s end.

12. Reinstall FaceTime

1. From your iPhone’s Home Screen, press & hold the FaceTime app icon.

2. From the quick action menu, tap Remove App.

3. Tap Delete App. Again, choose Delete to confirm your decision.

4. Now, restart your device and download the FaceTime from App Store.

2. If any updates are available, download and install them.

14. Sign out of FaceTime & Sign In Again

If FaceTime still won’t connect on your iPhone or iPad, you must sign out and then sign in back to FaceTime. Just make sure to use the correct Apple ID and password. Here’s how the entire process goes by:

3. After a few seconds, tap “Use your Apple ID for FaceTime” and enter your credentials to sign in again.

15. Reset Network Settings

You can reset network settings on your iPhone to fix connection problems liable for FaceTime not working. This process will not affect your iPhone’s data. Rather, it will only wipe off any saved VPN information and Wi-Fi networks & passwords. Make sure to save this information beforehand as you would have to enter that again.

2. Tap Reset.

4. If asked, enter your Screen Time Passcode as well.

5. Tap Reset Network Settings to confirm your decision.

16. Factory Reset Your iPhone

If you’ve tried everything and still can’t use FaceTime on your iOS devices, it’s time to perform a factory reset. It will fix complex iOS bugs and restore your iPhone settings to their default. We would recommend you keep this FaceTime troubleshooting fix for the last. Try other methods, if nothing helps, you can resort to this trick.

Disclaimer: This process will delete all your iPhone’s data, including photos, videos, contacts, downloaded apps, and more. So, make sure to back up your data before you proceed with the steps to factory reset an iPhone.

2. Choose Erase All Content and Settings.

3. You will see a screen saying Erase This iPhone.

4. To proceed, hit the Continue button. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Tried everything and still no luck? Something might be wrong with the internal components or your device. In such cases, we recommend heading straight to the nearest Apple service center to get your iPhone diagnosed. Even better, you should make an appointment at Apple’s store Genius Bar to cut down the waiting time.
