Launch Apps From Sidebar On Your Android Device
Launching apps on an Android device can be done in multiple ways. You can use the app shortcuts available on your homescreen to launch apps, or you can just open the app drawer to launch an app; both get the job done for you.
While you may be using these ways to fire up apps on your device, there is now a new way for you to access apps. This new way allows you to launch an app from a sidebar.
Launching Apps from SidebarIn order to add a sidebar with the apps to your device, you are going to use an app called Glovebox that is available for free on the Google Play store.
1. Head over to the Google Play store and download and install the Glovebox app on your device. Launch the app after it is installed (yes, please use the app drawer launching method for now and maybe for the last time!).
2. When the app is launched, you will go through a couple of welcome screens showing what the app can do for you. Keep on sliding to the left until it is over.
3. Once you reach the main screen of the app, tap on the “+” (plus) icon in the top-right corner to add a new app to the sidebar.
4. On the screen that follows you should see all the apps that are installed. Select all that you wish to add to the sidebar and tap on the icon appearing in the bottom-right corner to tell the app that you are done.
5. You should see the selected apps appearing on the main screen of the Glovebox app. You can now just pull the slider from the left and you will be able to see the sidebar containing all the apps you have added to it. You can tap on any app and it will launch as it usually would.
6. While the sidebar is a great way to launch apps on your device, it may be an issue for some apps, mostly the games on your device. The app has a blacklist option where you can add the apps for which you do not wish to see in the sidebar.
7. Tap on the “+” (plus) icon to add an app to the blacklist.
8. Select the apps you wish to add to the blacklist. When you are done, tap the icon in the bottom-right corner.
9. You should be able to see the blacklist containing the apps you have selected. These apps will pause Glovebox, and it will not run until you close these apps on your device.
Besides homescreen and app drawer, you now have a third way to launch your apps.
ConclusionIf you find launching apps from the homescreen and app drawer to be inconvenient, you can use the above procedure to add a new way of launching apps to your device.

How To Send Large Files From Your Android Device
As our Android phones continue to play a bigger and bigger role in our work lives, it’s only natural that we’ll want to use them for bigger tasks. Take transferring large files for instance. If you have something on your phone that’s 1GB or even just a hundred megabytes, it’s already too big to email.
There are plenty of workarounds to that problem. We’ll show you a trick and a couple of great apps that will help you send your large files from your Android device.
1. EasyJoinIf you’re just looking to share files on your local network, there are several ways you can do so. But the one we most recommend is the lightweight and efficient app EasyJoin.
All the linked devices are neatly listed in the Material-inspired interface, and you can make small tweaks such as changing your visibility to other devices, who you receive messages from, and whether or not you want to receive notifications.
It goes without saying that for local transfers of large files, this is one of the fastest methods available.
2. WeTransferWeTransfer is the go-to website for anyone who has found themselves in a file-sending rut and just wanted to get things done with minimal hassle. It allows you to send 2GB of a file for free and 20GB if you are on the premium plan.
WeTransfer has an Android version, though if you prefer to save on disk space, you can just use the browser version through your phone. The browser version is actually simpler in some ways, as the app is a bit more fancy and presents your added files in “Boards,” letting you share links as well as directly send files.
Using WeTransfer is very simple. You type in your email address (so the recipient knows who it’s from and so you get a notification when your file is received and opened), type in the recipient’s email, and then add your files.
3. Send AnywhereIf you and the recipient are in the same vicinity, then why go through all the hassle of uploading a large file all the way to the Internet only for them to download it again when you can just send it over directly?
No, we’re not talking about Bluetooth (which is slow and only good for small files). We’re talking about Send Anywhere, an app that uses Wi-Fi Direct to beam things directly between devices.
Files (50GB file-size limit) you send are 256-bit encrypted, and you’ll get a key that you need to give to the recipient so that they can receive the file.
4. Google DriveThe desktop version of Gmail now has a feature where it integrates with Google Drive, making it capable of sending files as large as 10GB by sending them via your cloud account.
After that, go to the Google Drive app, long-tap the file to bring up the options, then tap the three-dotted menu icon. You can either “Add people” to share the file via Google Drive, or if you want the recipient to get their own copy of it, select “Send a copy,” then choose the file-sending app you want to use. This will import the file directly into that app.
ConclusionUsing one or all of the above, all your big file-sending needs on Android should be addressed. The ability to actually send large files through Gmail via Google Drive is particularly handy, and it’s a bit of a mystery why Google hasn’t integrated this feature into the Android version yet. Hopefully, it’s just a matter of time, as it will make the whole process much simpler.

How To Quickly Search Anything On Your Android Device
Nowadays, most people usually use their Android device as their “personal computer” rather than an actual desktop. Since the latest smartphones are powerful enough to hold an extensive amount of information, you may hardly even have to turn on your computer.
There is just one drawback to having so many files on your phone. The more files you have, the more time it takes for you to find them. At least for now, Android doesn’t have a feature that searches your entire device for the file, but that shouldn’t be a problem.
How to Find Your Files on Any Android Device – Option 1You’ll see a search bar at the top where you can search for files by name, extension type, and even by number (useful when you’re looking for a contact). At the bottom you’ll see what files have been recently changed and any apps you’ve also installed.
Andro Search will also look for files in Evernote, Microsoft Word, Excel, and OpenOffice, as well as PDF files and other apps. When the app does find the file, it will show you a preview of it, and if it’s what you’re looking for, simply tap on it to open the file. If the file you’re opening is a video, Andro Search will ask you to decide which app you want to open it with.
To the side of the file, you’ll also see a dropdown menu that will give you various options as to what you can do with the file. For example, you can delete, share, get details, open as, and more.
Locate Files on Your Android Device with Jet File Search – Option 2If the first option didn’t convince you, you could always try the Jet File Search App. In the app’s main page you’ll see all your files divided into different categories such as recent, download, audio, photo, etc.
To search for a file, tap on the search icon at the top-right and explore. When you type in the name of the file, the app won’t show you a preview like the previous app, but you’ll at least see the name of the file. You’ll need to tap the search icon on your keyboard to make the search option appear.
You can also change the way the app sorts your files. For example, you can sort your files by time, type, size, and in alphabetical order. The app can also sort your files in either one, two, or three columns. The app is a little slow when you try to launch it, but it is helpful locating your files.

GUIDE: ROOT KARBONN A21 WITH UNLOCK ROOT TOOL
Before you begin with the instructions below, make sure your android device is adequately charged — at least 50% battery of the device.
STEP 0: CHECK DEVICE MODEL NO.
To make sure your device is eligible with this, you must first confirm its model no. in ‘About device’ option under Settings. Another way to confirm model no. is by looking for it on the packaging box of your device. It must be A21!
Please know that this page is meant only for Karbonn A21. Please DO NOT try the procedures given here on any other device of Karbonn or any other company. You have been Warned!
STEP 1: BACKUP YOUR DEVICE
Back up important data and stuff before you start playing around here as there are chances you might lose your apps and app-data (app settings, game progress, etc.), and in rare case, files on the internal memory, too.

STEP 2: INSTALL LATEST DRIVER
You must have proper and working driver installed on your windows computer to be able to successfully root your Karbonn A21.

STEP 3: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DOWNLOADSDownload the files given below and transfer it to a separate folder on your computer (just to keep things tidy, that is).
ROOT FILEDownload the latest version of Unlock Root from the official website here.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDEImportant Note: Backup important files stored on internal SD card of your device, so that in case a situation arises requiring you to do a factory reset after rooting with this tool, which might delete internal sd card too, your files will remain safe on PC.
└ Note: Antivirus installed on your PC may cause some problems while rooting. So temporarily disable the Antivirus protection on your PC.
Turn on USB Debugging on your Karbonn A21.
Enable developer options: Go to your device’ Settings » select About device » Scroll to the bottom and tap on “Build number” seven times to enable developer options.
Enable USB Debugging: Open device’ Settings » select Developer options » Tick the “USB debugging” checkbox. (under Debugging section)
Connect your Karbonn A21 to PC. Your PC should detect your device.If your PC doesn’t detect your device, here are some troubleshooting tips:
Make sure you have installed driver for Karbonn A21 as said above in ‘Before you begin..’ section.
If you have already installed driver, then uninstall them and reinstall back.
Connect using a different USB port on your PC.
Try a different USB cable. The original cable that came with your phone should work best, if not, try any other cable that’s new and of good quality.
Reboot your phone and PC and then try again.
└ Note: Ignore the messages like your phone is already rooted if you got any.
During the rooting process it may ask your permission to install some additional apps on your phone. Make your choice and continue.
After the reboot, you will find the SuperUser app in the app drawer. Congrats your device is rooted!

How To Find Your Wifi Password On An Android Device
We connect to so many different networks and the password usually gets entered just once. So what would you do if you forgot the WiFi password? Having a good password safe would prevent this problem, but you can also find the WiFi password off your Android phone. It’s easier than you might think.

Find The WiFi Password On a Pixel PhoneIf you’ve got a Google Pixel phone with Android 10, this is the easiest way possible to find your WiFi password.
The phone will display a QR Code. Right below that is the WiFi password for that network.
Find The WiFi Password On Other Android PhonesIf you’ve got a non-Pixel phone with Android 10, it’s slightly more complicated but still very simple.
Go to Settings.
Tap on Connections.
Tap on Wi-Fi.
At the bottom-left of the screen, tap on QR Code.
Take a screen capture of the QR Code.
Using a QR Code scanner, like TrendMicro’s QRScanner, load the screenshot. Do this by tapping the QR code icon in the bottom-left corner.
You’ll see the password now. In TrendMicro QRScanner, it shows in the 2 spots highlighted by the red rectangles below.
Find The WiFi Password On Android 9 & Older PhonesIf your Android phone runs Android 9 (Pie) or an older version of Android, finding the WiFi password is more difficult. You’ll need to root your phone first. That means giving yourself the highest access level possible.
We have articles on how to root a Pixel, Galaxy, or Nexus phone. Then you’ll need to install some software on your computer and be able to connect your phone to the computer.
Tap on Build number 7 times. You’ll see the message You are now a developer!
Go back one screen and scroll to Developer options. Go into that.
Scroll down to USB debugging and turn it on.
Install Universal ADB Drivers on your PC. This helps your computer talk to the Android over a USB connection. Make sure your USB cable is for data transfer, not just charging.
Download and install the Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool on your PC.
Connect the phone to your computer and open the Minimal ADB and Fastboot app. It opens as a command prompt.
The command will copy the wpa_supplicant.conf file to your PC in the same folder Minimal ADB and Fastboot is installed in. In File Explorer navigate to that location.
Open the file with Notepad and you’ll find the WiFi password.
Android WiFi Password Reveal AppsYou may be tempted to download a password recovery app. After reviewing several of the WiFi recovery apps listed in the Google Play store, we couldn’t find one that we would trust.
Some have decent ratings, but the reviews seem fake. You’ll also find that they require you to root your phone. Even if they did work, should you really trust them? Are you sure they’re not sending your information somewhere they shouldn’t? We recommend avoiding these apps.
Still Can’t Recover The WiFi Password?Recovering the WiFi password on your Android phone is really just a convenience. You can find the WiFi password using the Command Prompt in Windows, if the computer can connect to the WiFi. If the methods above don’t work for you, then reset the WiFi password on your router.
If it’s not your WiFi router, then ask the person who manages it for the password. If you don’t own the router, or you don’t want to talk to the person who does, you probably shouldn’t be using the WiFi anyway.
