Suggested March 2024 Delete For Everyone On Whatsapp: Time Limit, How To Guide, And Meaning

We’ve all had a message faux pas on our WhatsApp group, one that usually compels us to pull the trigger on the Delete For Everyone button that we would otherwise avoid. The drama that a deleted message invokes aside, this function is very important when it comes to fixing a situation where a message has been accidentally sent. However, removing a message comes with its own set of privacy issues and WhatsApp has tackled the same with some water-tight checks and balances in place. So here’s everything you need to know about the Delete For Everyone feature on WhatsApp and how it works.

Delete for Everyone on WhatsApp: What is it?

As the name suggests, Delete for Everyone is a delete option that is available for your messages on a WhatsApp group chat. Using Delete for Everyone, a user will be able to delete a message for the entire group so that no one is able to see the message again. Previously, a user could delete messages that were sent by others on the group, now this feature only works for the messages that you have sent to others.

However, do keep in mind that whenever you delete a message, all recipients of the message will be made aware of the fact that you just deleted a message with the help of a WhatsApp notification where the message previously appeared. So while there is a way to delete a message for everyone, you won’t be able to hide the act of deletion. All of these measures are in place to protect the privacy of the individuals as well as a means to keep all parties informed. In a bid to ensure that the app is fair to all the users, WhatsApp made Delete for Everyone what it did.

WhatsApp delete for everyone time limit

Back in 2023, when the Delete for Everyone feature was first introduced, it could only be used for 7 minutes after which the option to delete a message for everyone automatically went away. Two years ago, WhatsApp increased the time to an hour to give the user more time to take action for a message.

How to Delete for Everyone on WhatsApp

The Delete for Everyone feature works both on Whatsapp web as well as the app. Here’s everything you need to know about how to use the Delete for Everyone feature on WhatsApp.

On App

Open the WhatsApp app on your phone and go to a group chat where you can type a message and then delete it.

Long-press the message that you want to delete.

Icons will appear on the top, tap the delete icon from this set.

An additional window will open with the option to Delete for everyone, tap the option.

The message will now be deleted and replaced with a notice stating that you have deleted the message.

On Web

Go to chúng tôi and scan your WhatsApp code. Once you are in your Whatsapp account, go to your WhatsApp group where you want to delete a group message.

Next, select the Delete for everyone option from the choices that appear in the additional window.

The message will be deleted after you do this.

How to hide the message deleted notification

An unfortunate caveat of WhatsApp is that the notification indicating that you deleted a message can only be deleted for yourself. So even if the notification disappears, it only does that on your chat. Others will still be able to see that you deleted a message. But seeing the notification can be annoying so here’s what you need to do to remove the notification itself.

Long-press the notification to select it.

A window will appear with the option stating Delete for me. Tap the option.

The notification will be gone now.

Delete for Everyone feature not working? How to fix

The most likely reason that the Delete for Everyone feature is not working for you is that the time limit for deleting the message has definitely passed. If you are within the given time frame and the option still refuses to appear, then you need to make sure that you are on the latest updated version of WhatsApp. Once you have updated your WhatsApp from the Play Store/ App Store, the Delete for Everyone feature should work just fine.

That’s everything there is to know about the Delete for Everyone feature. We hope you found this article helpful. Take care and stay safe!

How To Delete Facebook: A Definitive Guide

Facebook has been embroiled in a ton of controversy in the past year, but the recently disclosed security lapse, which could have compromised the data of up to 50 million users, has once again turned on the spotlight on whether Facebook cares enough about privacy.

If Facebook’s latest security lapse has sent you into a panic, and you are planning to permanently delete your account then you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how you can delete your Facebook account and get rid of all your Facebook data. So, buckle up and get ready to leave behind your Facebook days.

Steps Before Account Deletion

Back up and Download Data

Disconnect Third-party Apps

The next most important step is to disconnect third-party apps for which you used Facebook to sign up. This plays right into the 50 million user account hack as reports suggest that third-party apps may also be compromised, so it’s safe to disconnect them and update their login credentials.

Steps to Delete Facebook:

Now that you’ve completed the pre-deletion process, you can follow the steps below to completely delete Facebook.

Steps to Delete Account on the Web

2. Under Settings, select the ‘Your Facebook Information’ option from the menu on the left.

3. Here you will find the ‘Delete your account and information’ option.

5. Once you tap on the ‘Delete Account’ button, Facebook will ask for your password and remind you that you’re going to permanently delete it. Just tap on the ‘Delete Account’ button with the exclamation mark to complete the process. Congrats, you have now deleted your account!

6. Finally, we would also recommend you to clear the browser cache and history so any and all web-apps logged in using your Facebook account will be automatically logged out.

Steps to Delete Account on Mobile

Note: We tried out this deletion process in the Facebook app, version 191.0.0.33.96, on our Nokia 7 plus, running Android 9 Pie.

1. In the Facebook app, open the ‘Settings & Privacy’ menu and select ‘Settings’ after tapping the ‘three lines’ icon at the very right.

2. Now scroll down and tap the ‘Account ownership and Control’ option under the ‘Your Facebook Information’ section in the Settings.

3. Here, tap on the ‘Deactivation and Deletion’ option and select the ‘Delete Account’ option.

4. You’ll now see the ‘Permanently Delete Account’ page that we have already seen above, so follow the steps listed above to get rid of Facebook forever.

Facebook’s support page says that you can cancel your request to delete the account within 14 days, after which “your account and all your information will be permanently deleted, and you won’t be able to retrieve your information.” It means you’ll need to be patient and try to stay away from social media for a couple weeks.

Further, Facebook claims that it takes up to 90 days for all the information in your profile to be deleted from the company’s servers. This, however, will not include data such as the messages you’ve sent someone else (that they see on Messenger) and other such residual data regarding your interactions with others. Here’s to a happier life without Facebook!

How To Delete Your Google Search History – A Modern Guide

Google can find almost any information available online. In the process, it retains your search history for all apps owned by Google. Whenever you perform a search query on Google or YouTube (or any other Google-owned service), the query is saved not only in your browsing history but also in Google’s search history.

While you can use other search engines for better privacy, Google and its services are a staple for most. Fortunately, you can delete your Google search history from your Google account in minutes.

Table of Contents

How to Clear Google Search History Completely

The obvious way to clear your history is to clear browsing data from within a web browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. However, note that clearing your Chrome browsing history doesn’t delete your search history. It only helps clear your browsing history.

You can clear all of your Google search history that Google has accumulated from your use of Google apps on your PC, Mac, Android, iPhone, or other devices through the My Activity page.

You can also download your search history data before you delete your Google search history if you don’t want to lose it entirely and store it offline. If you don’t want to download your Google search history, skip over the next section.

How to Download Google Search History

Go to the Download page on Google Takeout.

There are three steps to exporting your data. First, select the data that you want to include by checking the relevant boxes. You’ll be able to select data for all Google apps including Google Maps, Google Photos, and Google Chrome.

Then select the Next step button.

For the second step in the process, you’ll need to select a delivery method. You can choose to receive a download link via email or directly add the Google activity data to your cloud storage.

You can also choose to export your Google activity on a recurring basis every two months from the Frequency section.

Next, select a file type and size. You can select to export data as .zip or .tgz. Select a file size based on how large you want the file to be. If your total data takes more storage, the files will be split into smaller files based on the size you’ve selected. For instance, if you choose 2GB and the total size of the data comes to 5 GB, Google will create two files of 2GB each and one of 1GB.

When you’re done, select the Create export button.

At this point, the export process should start. The process could take a while—hours or may be days—based on how much data there is to back up.

How to Delete Google Search History From Google Account

Deleting your browser history doesn’t delete activity from your Google account. It only deletes the history of web pages you’ve visited and clears cache and cookies, among other things.

To clear data on your Google account collected by Google services like Gmail, Google Maps, and other search activity, you need to use the My Activity page.

Go to the My Activity page and log into your Google account if you haven’t already.

Select the Filter by date & product option. Select the products you want to delete the history for.

For instance, if you only want to delete your location history, select only Google Maps. You can also select a time frame if you want to delete history within a specific time range.

This will open a pop-up window where you’ll need to provide a confirmation for deleting your Google history. Next, select the Delete button. Google will then delete all activity for the selected products and time range.

That’s all you need to do to delete your Google history. When Google has deleted the history, you’ll see a Deletion complete confirmation. Press Got it and close the browser tab.

How to Automatically Delete Activity on Google

You can also change settings on the Activity controls page to automatically delete your search activity at 3, 18, or 36-month intervals.

Scroll down on the Activity controls page and select the Choose an auto-delete option.

Select a frequency for auto-deleting activity from the three options (3, 18, or 36 months) and select Next.

On the next screen, select the Confirm button to confirm auto-deletion. Doing this will also automatically delete any activity older than 18 months.

If you don’t want to delete your Google account data, but just want Google to pause saving activity temporarily, you can do that as well.

How to Pause Search Activity Saving on Google

You can change settings in your Google account to pause saving search activity for a certain time frame, so you don’t have to delete it very frequently. However, there’s no option to disable saving of activity permanently.

Note that setting up auto-delete on Google doesn’t prevent your browser from saving your browsing history. It just prevents Google’s search engine and apps from saving your activity. If you want to keep your browser from saving your browsing history or other data, you can use incognito mode.

Go to Google’s Activity controls page.

Select the Turn off button in the Web & App Activity section.

You’ll see a pop-up asking for confirmation. Select PAUSE, and that should pause saving your activity from Google’s end.

You can also turn off location history and YouTube history the same way by scrolling down on the Activity controls page.

No Time For Social Media? Here’s How To Make Time!

7 techniques to saving hours each week on social media updates

It could be simple, you’re probably not devoting the right amount of time to doing the right things to make social media work for you effectively.

What’s the solution? Well you could outsource some of your social media activities but then there’s a cost involved in doing so with no guarantee that it will deliver a return and besides no one can get across your message or identify your ideal LinkedIn prospect better than you, right?

Your ideal solution is to engage with social media yourself. ”But Steve, I already told you, I don’t have the time!”

Ok, let’s first examine, why should you even consider being on LinkedIn and other social media at all by taking a look at how many other medium sized companies have been approaching social media during 2014:

57% pay a dedicated social media team to manage their marketing

86% believe social media delivers a measurable return on investment

98% plan to increase their investment in social media in 2024

If your business is going to be truly successful then you ideally need to devote at least as much time to marketing and selling your services as you do tackling the actual doing part of your job role – the delivery of your product or service. However, if you run a small or medium-sized businesses, spending 50% of your time on marketing and selling is unrealistic, unless you’re going to put in a 20 hour day every day.

What it boils down to, is being more efficient with the time you do have available and I’m going to share with you 7 tips that will enable you to become more effective by spending fewer hours on social media each week.

7 social media time-saving techniques that will save you time

1. Become laser focused – be absolutely clear who it is you need to engage with. What do they look like, what industry sector are they from, what position do they hold and where are they located geographically? Once you’ve identified your target audience, with laser precision, then you must ensure that you avoid spending time engaging with, reading articles from or associating in any activity on social media that does not relate to your business objectives.  It’s too easy to find you’ve spent half an hour on LinkedIn, doing nothing else but being curious. If you have time to spend being curious fine, if not, remain focused.

4. Be there when your audience is – Just because it fits with your schedule to message or post content at a particular time of day or on certain days of the week, doesn’t mean to say that your audience is going to be around to see it then. Research by social media experts, including ourselves has found that the following times of day are when social media sites are most actively accessed:

LinkedIn Week days 7-8.30am / lunchtimes / 4-6pm. Weekends 7.30-9am

Twitter – Week days 1-6pm weekdays.Weekends 1-3pm

Facebook Week days 6-8am / 2-5pm. Weekends are not good

Of course there is no exact science to this and not everyone one of your target audience will conform to these trends. The above timings however, are fairly typical of our own research. So, if you don’t have much time, consider increasing the chances of your audience reading your messages or posts by sharing content when they’re on social media.

Marketing who you are and what you do is vital to the success of any business or individual. In recent years social media has emerged as one of the most influential business development channels – we can’t ignore it but we mustn’t let it consume our time or our thoughts. Plan and execute your social media strategy in a SMART manner.

How to Create Your Own WhatsApp Stickers

You can make WhatsApp stickers on PC as well as using sticker-maker apps on Android and iPhone. Let’s check the methods.

1. Using WhatsApp Web or Desktop App

On PC, you can create a sticker from any image directly in WhatsApp without using a third-party app. Follow these steps:

Launch

WhatsApp Web

or the desktop app on your PC.

Open any chat and press the Emoji icon.

Select the image that you want to use to create a sticker from your computer.

When you reach the sticker editing screen, you will find a variety of tools to edit the sticker, such as outline, emoji, sticker, text, pencil, crop, rotate, and undo. Use them to make the sticker.

Press the “Done” button to create the sticker and hit the “Send” button to send it.

You can access all your created stickers under the Recents sticker section on PC.

Note: WhatsApp won’t sync stickers created on your PC to your phone, but you can send stickers you want to save to a chat, then add them as a favorite on your phone to use these on your mobile chats.

2. Using Third-Party Apps on Phone

Several third-party apps exist for both Android and iPhone that let you create WhatsApp stickers from photos and text. Let’s check the steps to create image stickers on mobile.

Install the Sticker Maker app on Android or iPhone.

When installed, open the app and tap on “Create a new sticker pack.”

Type a name for your sticker pack and add the author’s name. Press the “Create” button, then tap on the sticker pack that you created.

You will see empty boxes on the next screen. Tap on the first button to choose an image. You can capture a new photo, add from Gallery, create text stickers, or choose from the sticker library. Choose the desired option.

When you will reach the editing screen, crop the image or outline it. Add text on the next screen, then press the “Save sticker” button.

Create more stickers similarly. Please note that a sticker pack should have at least three stickers to import it to WhatsApp.

Tap on the Tray icon to create a thumbnail for the sticker pack.

Once you have created at least three stickers, tap on the “Add to WhatsApp” button.

If you have both regular and business WhatsApp, a pop-up menu will show up asking you to select one.

Tap on “Add” or “Save” in the confirmation box.

That’s it. The sticker pack will show up on the sticker screen.

Below is a list of some other apps that let you create WhatsApp stickers:

Sticker Studio (Android)

Sticker.ly (Android, iPhone)

Sticker Maker (Android)

Sticker Maker ! (iPhone)

StickersApp (Android, iPhone)

Top Stickers Maker Studio Memes (

Android

, iPhone)

3. Create Custom Animated Stickers

In addition to image stickers, you can create custom animated or moving (GIF) stickers for WhatsApp on Android and iPhone. Follow the steps below:

Download the Sticker Maker app on Android or iPhone. It’s the same app used in the above method.

Launch the app and tap on “Create a new sticker pack button.”

Add names for the sticker pack and author, then hit the “Create” button.

Tap on the sticker pack.

Tap on the first image box, then on “Select File” from the menu.

Choose the video or GIF file you want to use to create an animated sticker.

The app will automatically select a portion of the video for stickers and will not give you the option to trim the video. I would suggest trimming the video to the desired length before you start making a sticker from it. For help with this, read our guide on how to trim a video on Android and iPhone.

Create more animated stickers in the sticker pack in a similar fashion and add a thumbnail using the Tray icon button. Then, tap on “Add to WhatsApp” to import the custom animated stickers into WhatsApp.

Note: do not mix image and animated stickers in one sticker pack, as the pack won’t be imported to WhatsApp.

How to Share a Sticker Pack

WhatsApp allows you to share sticker packs with your friends.

Open the stickers section in WhatsApp. Then, tap on the (+) add icon.

Open the sticker pack that you want to send to others.

Hit the Share icon at the top right and select the WhatsApp contact with whom you want to share the pack.

Tips for Using WhatsApp Stickers 1. Add Stickers to WhatsApp Status and Images

WhatsApp stickers can be added to images and videos in your WhatsApp status and any media that you send in chats.

To do so, select the image or video to be added to a status or chat. On the editing screen, press the Emoji icon. You will find two tabs at the top: “Stickers” and “Emoji.” Tap on “Stickers” and select the desired sticker. Once added, you can change the position and size of the sticker using regular gestures.

In addition to the stickers from sticker packs, WhatsApp lets you add dynamic stickers like a clock and location, which will add your current location and time. Furthermore, you can annotate screenshots using shapes like an arrow, circle, square, or chat bubble.

2. Send Stickers Using Keyboards

On Android, keyboards like Gboard and SwiftKey offer their own stickers. You can send these stickers on WhatsApp too. You can also use Gboard’s emoji kitchen to create a wide variety of interesting stickers by mixing emojis.

How To Check Screen Time On Windows

In an increasingly digital world, where screens have become an integral part of our daily lives, it’s important to strive to maintain a healthy balance between PC usage and other activities. With built-in screen-time monitoring tools in Windows, you can gain valuable insights into your digital habits, allowing you to understand your usage patterns, assess productivity levels, and more. This tutorial shows how to check your screen time on a Windows PC.

Good to know: learn how to record your Windows screen with these tools, some of which are native.

1. Check Screen Time Using Settings

View a detailed report of your PC’s battery usage patterns via the Settings app. You’ll be able to check screen-on time, screen-off time, and sleep time.

By default, you will see the daily average of the “Screen on/off” time and “Sleep” time below the graph.

Tip: learn what to do if Windows can’t find Powershell.exe.

2. Check Screen Time with PowerShell

You can also use PowerShell to find out how much time you spend on your Windows computer on a certain day.

Type the following command, and press Enter.

(

get-date

)

(

gcim Win32_OperatingSystem

)

.LastBootUpTime

The time elapsed since the last bootup of your Windows computer will be shown.

Note: this method will not work for you if you’re not in the habit of turning off your computer every day. Learn which method is better: putting your PC to sleep or shutting it down.

3. Track Screen Time Using Windows Task Manager

The majority of users usually turn to the Task Manager if their computer becomes unresponsive. However, the utility can also be used to check the time spent on your PC.

Below the performance graph of the CPU, the “Up time” field displays how long your PC has been running since the last restart (not shutdown).

FYI: learn how to view devices on your Windows network and what to do if you can’t.

4. Check Screen Time Using the Network Settings Menu

It is also possible to check screen time by accessing the Network Connection menu on your Windows computer.

Launch Control Panel on your Windows computer.

Find the value of the “Duration” field to check screen time since the last bootup.

5. Check Screen Time on Kids’ Devices

Want to know how much time your child (or another account) spends on the computer? Set up a Microsoft Family Safety account, then invite other accounts you wish to monitor.

6. Check Screen Time via Third-Party Apps

All the methods listed above will help you check the approximate screen time you spent on your computer. However, if you need to calculate the exact time you worked for invoicing purposes, you will need to make use of third-party time-tracking software.

Clockify is a free Web-based tool for Windows that helps you to track work hours across projects. You’ll have to remember to start the timer when you begin a work session, and stop it when you take a break or finish for the day.

If that’s not your cup of tea, check out other time-tracking app alternatives, such as Harvest, Hubstaff, and Timely.

Tip: want to share your favorite games with your family? Learn how to do that with Steam Family Sharing.

Frequently Asked Questions What is the largest span of time I can view in the screen time statistics?

You can view screen time statistics for a maximum of seven days, and only the last 7 days, via Windows Settings.
