Suggested January 2024 Bing Updates Backlink Research Tool

Bing updated an improved backlink research tool and announced it on Twitter. The backlink tool shows links from unique top referring domains, links on a page per page level as well as the top anchor text.

It also shows the same data for competitors.

This makes Bing’s backlink tool useful for researching links as part of a link building process.

The tool has recently been upgraded with the new feature.

Archive.org has a screenshot of the Bing Backlink Tool support page. The screenshot is from April 2023.

The archive of the backlink tool support page has a snapshot of the old version of the Bing backlink tool.

It can be seen in the screenshot that the old tool only had two backlink features:

Bing Similar Sites Tool

Bings similar sites tool presents a great way to do backlink research. The tool helps you gain insights on competitor backlinks and can be useful for non-competitor backlink research.

While the tool calls it the “Similar Sites” tool, you can actually put any domain name in there, regardless if it’s similar to your site and research away. This means it can be used for backlink research for clients or to find backlinks of sites that aren’t direct competitors.

Detailed Backlink Information

The tool shows domain level backlink information, with the amount of links from each domain listed in a right hand column.

If you scroll down the list of backlinks there’s a link to detailed information for each domain.

Backlink Filters

You can compare your site with a competitor site and use a filter to show three different kinds of backlinks.

Show All

This shows you all the domains that link to your site, to your competitor and those that don’t link to one or the other.

Show Only Common Domains

This shows the domains that link to both your site and your competitor.

Show Domains Not Linking to My Site

This shows links from domains that your competitor has that you don’t have.

Anchor Texts

The detailed report contains an option to view the anchor text used to link to competitors and your own site, including the option to use the above described filters.

That’s useful for seeing what anchor text a competitor has that your site does not.

Download Reports

All of the detailed reports include the option to download the reports in CSV format.

Bing Backlink Tool is Representative

The Bing backlink tool does not show complete backlink information. It shows what it calls a “representative” set of backlinks.

That means it’s a partial set of backlinks. That said, I think it shows a decent amount of links. But it seems to me that Bing might be randomizing the quality of the links resulting in some high quality links not being shown.

I checked the tool and noticed it was reasonably comprehensive although some links I was aware of were missing.

Still, it’s a free tool and Bing provides a decent amount of information.

Backlink information is an area that Google has traditionally been stingy about sharing.

I have been waiting years for Bing to get a clue and exploit Google’s shortcoming by providing competitor backlink information.

That day has finally arrived.

Give the Bing backlink tool a spin. You may find it useful.

Apple Security Research Launches With Website, Blog, Applications Open For Research Device Program

Along with announcing its new Lockdown Mode feature this past summer, the company mentioned an upgraded bounty program, a donation to fund ethical security research, and more. Now Apple Security Research has officially launched with a dedicated website, blog, details on the bounty changes, applications open for the Research Device Programs, and more.

Apple launched the new security hub website led by two blog posts today.

Apple Security Bounty changes

First up, Apple detailed the ways its security bounty program has been upgraded:

“In the past two and a half years since opening our program, we’re incredibly proud to have awarded researchers nearly $20 million in total payments, with an average payout of $40,000 in the Product category, and including 20 separate rewards over $100,000 for high-impact issues. To our knowledge, this makes Apple Security Bounty the fastest-growing bounty program in industry history.

During this time, our team has worked closely with researchers around the world, and we’ve learned about some things we can do better.

First, we’re responding much more quickly. At times we received many more submissions than we anticipated, so we’ve grown our team and worked hard to be able to complete an initial evaluation of nearly every report we receive within two weeks, and most within six days.

Next, we’re making it easier for researchers to report issues and communicate with our teams. Our Apple Security Research site includes a new way to send us research on the web and get real-time status updates. Just sign in with your Apple ID and follow the prompts to send us a detailed report. You can then track the progress of your report and communicate securely with Apple engineers as we investigate.”

“We’re also providing more transparency. Our site now includes detailed Apple Security Bounty information and evaluation criteria. Bounty categories include ranges and examples, so you can determine where you’d like to focus your research, and so you can anticipate whether your report qualifies for a particular reward. We’ve provided ranges for submissions that impact Apple services and infrastructure, as well as our products.”

Security Research Device applications open

Another announcement shared on the new website is that the window for Apple Security Research Device applications is open:

“Starting today through November 30, 2023, we’re also accepting applications for the 2023 Apple Security Research Device Program. This program features an iPhone exclusively dedicated to security research, and can help you get started, go deeper, or improve the efficiency of your research work with iOS.”

Security blog

Kicking off the first post of its new technical security blog, Apple shared about the “next generation of XNU memory safety: kalloc_type.”

“To inaugurate our security research blog, we present the first in a series of technical posts that delves into important memory safety upgrades in XNU, the kernel at the core of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Because nearly all popular user devices today rely on code written in programming languages like C and C++ that are considered “memory-unsafe,” meaning that they don’t provide strong guarantees which prevent certain classes of software bugs, improving memory safety is an important objective for engineering teams across the industry.”

Scope And Research In Indian Psychology

Indian psychology refers to the extensive body of knowledge about consciousness, mind, and behavior we have received from our ancestors. It is ingrained in the three main religious traditions of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. Since most of the knowledge on the origins of consciousness, the self, and mental processes began and evolved as a part of spiritual and religious practices and teachings in various traditions, it is often considered religious or philosophical. These subjects are frequently discussed in religious discourses and philosophical discussions in India, but neither the general public nor academics and professionals are aware of their psychological relevance or importance.

Indian Psychology Nature of Indian Psychology

It is crucial to remember that most Indians who identify with Vedic, Jaina, or Buddhist traditions still adhere to the values, beliefs, practices, and habits that have been ingrained in them over many generations. As a result, the second and fifth statements above that discuss Indian psychology are closely connected. These traditions have affected many other religious systems that eventually developed in our nation, as well as those that missionaries and conquerors brought to India. The word “Indian” merely draws attention to the special and different views on consciousness and the nature of the mind that are covered and detailed in our prehistoric books and treatises. Additionally, it alludes to the Indian viewpoint on behavior and other facets of human life. However, they are all globally relevant, and it is a continuation of the current scientific psychology.

Indigenization of Psychology

In contrast to indigenous psychology, indigenization of psychology entails adapting contemporary psychology’s fundamental ideas, models, and measurements to a specific sociocultural setting. It is recognized to construct global rules and principles. While “culture is the source” of ideas when producing indigenous psychology, “culture is the aim” when indigenizing psychology. Indigenization proponents steadfastly cling to scientific psychology, which seeks to establish universal rules and principles. For instance, Kamala Chaudhuri modified the images in the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) to fit the social setting of India.

Another instance of objects being modified from the original to fit the Indian context is the Binet-Kamat test of intellect. The fundamental principles of projective psychology and IQ testing are not altered in either of these modifications. Similarly, J. B. P. Sinha created the phrase “nurturant task leadership” to describe a new leadership style suited to the Indian work culture. Numerous psychologists have thus far tried to “indigenize” psychology rather than create indigenous psychology, starting in India.

Scope

Indian psychology is not just about religion and spirituality. Nobody of our thinkers overlooked any behavioral factors. They have concentrated on a variety of facets of behavior in people. We discover knowledge on social psychology (in Dharmashastra and Neetishastra), aberrant behavior (in Ayurveda), sexuality and sexual behavior (in Kmastra), economic and political activity (in Arthashastra & Chanakya Neeti), developmental aspects (defined as shodasha samskara), and so forth. Similar to this, the Jaina and Bauddha daranas, as well as the six schools of Indian philosophy, include a wealth of knowledge on cognitive psychology. Indian philosophers studied the spiritual side and the bio-psycho-social aspects of behavior discussed in contemporary psychology. Indian psychology, therefore, covers everything from sexuality to spirituality.

Research and Application of Indian Psychology

Numerous researchers have noted that Asian civilizations continue to hold onto the “spiritual” perspective. Therefore, the main contention is that contemporary psychology, which was established within the context of a material worldview and adopted the current scientific methodology, does not adequately account for the behavior of individuals who still have a spiritual worldview and behave per it. The divide between Western and non-Western psychology, including Asian psychology, stems from the challenge that contemporary psychology is a universal science.

However, psychologists discovered numerous noteworthy disparities across Western civilizations as the study developed. Some academics have observed that American society’s ideals, rather than those of all Western civilizations, are reflected in much of modern psychology. From a methodological perspective, many psychologists believe that the quantitative and experimental techniques used in psychology must fully capture psychological phenomena because they frequently get to the rule of averages rather than comprehend individual uniqueness. As Gordon Allport phrased it, they are “nomothetic” rather than “idiographic.” Thus, the requirement for creating more qualitative methods.

Neuropsychologists work hard to investigate the connections between the brain and nervous system, while transpersonal psychologists are busy trying to establish the phenomenology, models, and theories of states of consciousness. They have been tested by the phenomenon of so-called Out-of-Body Experiences (OBEs) and Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) since all of the theories of cognition that are now in existence and based on our sensory awareness fall short in this area. The reported OBE and NDE experiences that are not mediated by the five sense organs do not follow the norms of typical waking awareness experiences. Particularly in NDEs, the individual who describes such experiences typically looks either in a coma or thought dead by attending surgeons, physicians, and other medical professionals after returning to the ordinary state.

Conclusion

The spiritual perspective dominates Indian psychology. It declares that awareness, not substance, is fundamental. Consciousness is distinguished from the mind. It is believed that all people can be divine and that realizing one’s divinity is the purpose of existence. All other life objectives and drives are regarded as incidental and secondary. Intuitive processes are part of mental processes. Beyond the world of the senses, various experiences are available. However, not all of these encounters are thought to be the pinnacle. The most significant and ideal aspect of human life is realizing a condition beyond all of them, known as “pure awareness.” This paradigm helps to explain human behavior.

Bing Webmaster Tools And Everything You Can Do

Web admins and marketers should not ignore Bing because Google controls more than 90 per cent of the global search engine market. While Bing only has a 2.7% global market share, it controls 36.96% of the search engine market in the United States.

Even more intriguing is that Bing is involved in searches that customers aren’t even aware are interacting with Bing, such as search functionality in almost every Microsoft product, such as the 1.3 billion devices in use worldwide that run Windows 10. While 37% of all Internet users (equivalent to around 66 million people) use Bing alone for search, an additional 62 million people utilize BOTH Bing and Google.

Cortana and Alexa, two of the most well-known voice assistants, use Bing to search. Most Bing users are above 45 and earn over $100,000 a year. Said otherwise, you need to consider the larger picture if you want to see a rise in website traffic, particularly inside the United States.

What Are Bing’s Webmaster Tools?

Webmaster Tools are also available for use on Bing, enabling you to monitor your site’s statistics and submit a sitemap for indexing.

Compared to analytics accounts, this data is more concerned with your site’s overall health and success in search engines. An analytics platform aims to track your site’s overall traffic and give information about your user base.

You may also use Bing Webmaster Tools to see which search terms bring in the most visitors and which websites connect to yours, and begin using some of the diagnostics and tools accessible to you to optimise your site further.

Webpage Configuration for Bing Webmaster Tools

To begin, you must sign up for an account. Get started with Bing Webmaster Tools by signing up for an account. After that, we can begin submitting and vetting our links.

If your website is already confirmed in Google Search Console, you must import the settings.

If you want to set things up manually, you have three options −

A Document Written in XML

Tags for Metadata in HTML

Using XML Documents

The Bing Webmaster file must be downloaded and placed in the public html folder of your site.

The next step is to choose the verify option.

Meta Tag Path in HTML

To finish, choose the verify button. A WordPress site with an SEO plugin like Yoast makes connection verification a breeze.

To use a plugin, one must first locate the meta tag that identifies it, then copy the id that appears after Content=” YOURIDCODE “and put it where it is asked for in the tool.

If you prefer Shopify, you may go to this page for assistance.

Add a CNAME Record to Your Route

As no examination of your website’s particulars is required, this approach is the quickest and least time-consuming of the available options.

The simplicity of this process is very provider-specific; nonetheless, you should be able to count on direct assistance from your domain or hosting provider. You may get your domain’s DNS settings from the provider you originally purchased the domain. After you’ve located the domain’s DNS settings, you can add the CNAME record using the Bing-provided name.

Verify everything, please. Also, remember that adjusting your DNS settings may take some time. After that, we’ll look at the most important aspects of Bing Webmaster tools that justify their usage.

Add a Site to Google Search Using the Google Search Console

If you have a Google Search Console account, you may use it to import your website into Bing Webmaster Tools without having to authenticate it manually.

Google Search Console imports may only be used to add a site to your Bing account and import any sitemaps related to that site. Data collected in your Search Console Analytics will remain private from Bing when using the import method.

If you want to add your site to Google Search Console −

Next, press the Proceed button.

Then, choose the Google ID you used to register for Search Console.

Authorize chúng tôi to access your Google Account.

Choose the Website You Want to Import and Hit Import

Choose the button labelled “Done” to complete the procedure.

After that, the Bing Webmaster Tools Control Panel will be available to you.

What Features Do Bing Webmaster Tools Have?

The most recent release of Bing Webmaster Tools is a web-based, mobile-friendly solution that can be accessed via Bing. After you have shown ownership of your site with Bing, you may use their web admin tools to do the following −

Send in your links to get indexed.

Bing Webmaster Tool’s principal function is to index websites. This process is now automated, and web admins may submit URLs for indexing using their Bing Webmaster Tools API, which is compatible with most CMS platforms (CMS). Every day, web admins may submit up to 10,000 Links for indexing.

URLs may be temporarily banned, preventing them from being indexed by Bing for 90 days. You may use this feature if you want certain material hidden from view but not removed entirely.

Crawl problems may be reviewed and fixed, and Bing Bot crawling settings can be customised.

Using Bing’s Crawl Control, you may limit crawling during peak hours to ease the load on your hosting server, for example.

A Verify Bingbot option in Bing enables you to enter suspicious IP addresses from your server log and see whether they belong to Bing or not (and let you subsequently block the fake bot).

The Backlinks report is a curated compilation of the links that point to your site (sorted by Domain, Page, and Anchor text).

Using Bing’s Backlinks report, you may browse Similar Sites, block (disavow) certain backlinks, and filter data by domain, page, and anchor text.

Try out Bing’s keyword tool for yourself.

Bing’s keyword research tools aim to do the same thing as Google’s: assist web admins, and content providers in identifying relevant phrases to optimise their work.

See whether your website’s domain and pages adhere to established technical requirements.

They include the chúng tôi file and the W3C standards for web design, web architecture, and more.

Examine the Sitemap processing and presentation in Bing.

You only have to submit a sitemap once, but you may keep it up-to-date daily by reviewing it.

Conclusion

All the capabilities necessary to make your site search engine friendly for Bing may be found inside the Bing web admin tools. Although user-friendly, the tools lack the intelligence of Google Search Console. With Bing Webmaster Tools, you can get a birds-eye perspective of your site as seen by Bing and stay abreast of any changes that need to be made to your SEO approach to better accommodate Bing’s preferences.

Microsoft Enlists Bing To Enhance Windows 8.1 Apps

In its ongoing challenge to attract more users to Windows 8, Microsoft is offering bits of its Bing Internet search service to boost the functionality of third-party Windows Store applications.

“We’re opening up Bing as an application development platform so you can use all this investment we’ve put into crawling the Web and understanding entities [to] build that richness into your own applications running on top of Windows,” Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said Wednesday before a crowd of developers at the company’s Build conference in San Francisco.

Get more on what Microsoft said about Windows 8.1 at Build

To this end, the company has launched a developer portal that details a collection of APIs (application programming interfaces) Bing offers. These services can be embedded in Windows Store apps, providing functionality such as optical character recognition (OCR), language translation and displaying geographically situated, three-dimensional maps and aerial photographs.

Steve Ballmer at Build

The Bing services are a “great new addition to the broader Microsoft platform and likely to enable new styles of applications,” wrote Al Hilwa, an IDC program director covering application development tools, by email from the Build conference.

Bing’s bigger role

Microsoft has been increasingly embedding Bing functionality into its own products, such as Windows 8, Windows Phone and the Xbox. Windows 8.1, for instance, provides a unified search function that can execute a single search across the device’s directories, the user’s files on Microsoft’s SkyDrive service, and the Internet. Microsoft has also prepared two Bing-powered apps for its Windows 8.1 update: a food and drink app and a health and fitness app, both of which draw from Bing’s searching and mapping capabilities to offer personalized recommendations and situational awareness.

The new APIs will offer some of this functionality for third-party apps.

The Bing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Control, available as a customer technical preview, provides OCR capability, an interface with a device’s camera, and even a basic user interface. The user snaps a photo that is sent to Bing, which returns the extracted text. During the keynote at Build, which was available via a spotty webcast, Microsoft Vice President of Online Services Gurdeep Singh Pall demonstrated how this service could be used to harvest data from a business card.

Pall also demonstrated how the OCR service can be linked with the new Translator Control, which can translate the text among 40 different languages. He showed off the new text-to-speech control, which provides a way for users to issue commands to their apps vocally, as well as have the apps respond vocally.

“In the coming decade, apps will have eyes, ears and will have a mouth,” Pall said.

The company also unveiled some new services that could be used to build immersive or augmented reality interfaces showing users what is around them.

The Bing Entity API, which will be available to developers within the next few months, identifies nearby landmarks and types of businesses that apps can use to offer location-specific information to their users. Microsoft has also released a SDK (software development kit) that shows developers how to embed Bing maps and 3D aerial views of places into their apps. Bing can also provide mapping, routing, and traffic information for these maps as well.

According to Microsoft, Bing executes about 17.4 percent of all searches conducted in the U.S.

Global Social Media Statistics Research Summary 2023

Our compilation of the latest social media statistics of consumer adoption and usage of social networking platforms

Social networks have transformed marketing and, as this post shows, their popularity is still growing in our latest global social media statistics research summary for 2023.

Networks vary in popularity with different demographics and they’re still evolving. Research by Global WebIndex that we reference in this article shows that globally,

60% of the world’s population uses social media. The average daily usage is 2 hours and 24 minutes (April 2023).

We’ll keep this post updated during 2023 as the latest statistics are published drawing on our recommended top 10 digital marketing statistics sources. We’ll be pointing to new data on the popularity of social media from Global Web Index (worldwide), Pew Internet Surveys (US) and OfCom (UK), and most recently the Datareportal April 2023 global overview.

This post will apply the latest reports to our answers in 7 key areas crucial to understanding consumer use of social networks:

Q1. What is the overall popularity of social media compared to internet use globally?

Q2. Which are the most popular social networks by demographics (age and gender)?

Q3. Which are the fastest-growing social networks?

Q4. How do social users interact with brands when selecting products and services?

Q5. What are the different engagement metrics based on consumer behavior when using social media?

Q6. How do consumers interact with different post formats in social media?

Q7. What are the most popular times for consumers to use social media suggesting the best times to post?

Now more than ever, marketers need to make smart decisions when planning their digital distribution channels. So reviewing the latest social media diffusion and usage stats is a crucial part of any company’s digital marketing strategy.

Q1. What is the overall popularity of social media compared to internet use globally?

Datareportal regularly updates its global compendium of social media statistics, which we recommend as it gives some great insights into the world of social media. It’s a great download for including slides for your presentations. Note that their data is compiled from other sources of which the Global Web Index panel is the best source, although only available to paid subscribers. If you’re researching social network adoption, it’s worth checking out GWI’s top 10 2023 social media statistics and their free annual report of social media trends.

How many people use social media?

According to the Datareportal April 2023 global overview, we can see that social media growth has continued to increase:

More than

half of the world now uses social media (60%)

4.80 billion people around the world now use social media, 150 million new users have come online within the last 12 months

The average daily time spent using social media is 2h 24m.

The full report from Datareportal contains a huge amount of insight collated from different data providers across 200+ slides. It provides country-specific data for the vast majority of the world, so you might want to check out the slides of the countries in your core markets to get a better idea of the current state of social in the areas you operate. In this post, we focus on the social media data which starts at slide 160 in the report.

This chart, by Datareportal, summarises the importance and growth of social media today.

Q2. Which are the most popular social networks by demographics (age and gender)?

The best source for getting stats on the biggest social media platforms is direct from company statements and earning announcements.

Notably, of the top 4 social media platforms, 3 are owned by Meta. Facebook is the most-used platform in total – but as marketers, we know it’s crucial to consider different trends of usage for different demographics, as we’ll see below.

The rapid growth we’ve seen from TikTok shows no sign of slowing. TikTok had 1.4 billion monthly active users in 2023 and is expected to reach 1.8 billion by the end of 2023.

So, what does this mean for your social media marketing strategy?

Global Facebook demographics

Since it is still the top dog, I’ll share the Facebook demographics from Sprout Social Media’s report. But you can get this breakdown for each channel and more in the report.

As we can see, from the Facebook data, the biggest demographic on Facebook is males aged 25-34. For females also this age range represents the largest user pool.

United States Social network popularity

The Pew Research Center news usage research is a very strong recent source showing US social media statistics trends in usage for news. Interestingly, nearly half of those surveyed used social media to get news often or sometimes.

More interestingly, the stats breakdown below shows which social media channels are used by which genders, ages, education level, race, and political affiliations. For example, Facebook is a regular source of news to nearly double the amount of women to men. Nearly two thirds of Snapchat’s regular news consumers are aged 18-29.

Q3. Which are the fast-growing social networks?

Every marketer has limited time for social media marketing, so which fastest-growing social network should you focus your efforts on?

HubSpot has a good summary of these based on its own consumer survey – see Fastest growing US social platforms 2023 which features less well known, but growing social networks such as BeReal and Twitch.

A summary of global social media growth

The number of social media users globally grew from 4.62 billion in January 2023 to 4.72 billion in January 2023. This accounts for a 3% growth of +137 million users YOY. With more growth predicted over the rest of the year.

As of April, the number of total users are still going up, but the average time on the internet has slightly decreased, as we’ll see.

Social media vs internet users: opportunities for growth

This chart shows the total number of Internet users as of April 2023. Whilst 64.6% of the world’s population are internet users, 5% of those are still not active social media users.

Social media platforms today are evolving and developing to meet an ever-wider variety of consumer wants and needs. Surely the value that social media usage can add to consumers’ lives is more evident than ever before – social media marketers can tap into that.

2023 analysis of regional use of social media shows the wide variation of social media penetration:

 72% in Eastern Asia

74% in North America

72% in Southern America

84% in both Northern and Western Europe.

This falls to 41% in Southern Asia, 13% in Western Africa, and 7% in Middle Africa.

As you can see, the makeup of our international social media users is varied. This useful infographic demonstrates the share of global social media users – with Eastern Asia representing 27.7% of global social media users.

Q4. How do social users interact with brands when selecting products and services?

One of the challenges of social media marketing is that by its nature, social media are peer-to-peer, involving conversations between friends, families and colleagues. Given this, brands must be sensitive to how they use social media.

The research from GlobalWebIndex also shows how/why visitors use different social media services. Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, Reddit and Twitter users all report ‘follow/find information about products/brands’ in their top 3 motivations.

Social media statistics benchmarking tool Rival IQ produces these useful sector-by-sector benchmarks of social media engagement metrics including:

Posts per day

Posts per week

Engagement rate

Top hashtags by engagement rate

These include useful sector benchmarks for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter you can compare against. Here is a sample of the insights from their 2023 report.

Facebook engagement rates

The 2023 median average engagement rate per post (by follower) on Facebook is 0.064%, across all industries. Sports Teams see the highest engagement, achieving an average of 0.27%, followed by Influencers with 0.23% and Higher Education with 0.15%.

At the lower end of the spectrum, Health & Beauty, and Tech & Software receive an average 0.02% engagement rate.

Instagram engagement rates

Engagement rates are significantly higher on Instagram compared to Facebook. As you can see the 2023 average median engagement rate per post (by follower) is more than 10x higher, despite engagement on Instagram dropping approx 30% between 2023-21.

Q6. How do consumers interact with different post formats in social media?

Marketers know intuitively that the right type of visuals and videos are more effective in gaining engagement.

This is also supported by this data from this Social Bakers social media trends report:

Videos longer than a minute achieved the highest median interactions and median reach on Facebook, according to Socialbakers data.

In fact, for both reach and interactions, there was a correlation that showed the longer a video was, the further it reached and the more interactions it received.

As you can see, different platforms offer different opportunities for capturing different audiences. The trick is finding the right techniques to that to your channel goals.

If you’re looking for one simple reference guide which contains all the social media channel updates in an easy-to-track format, look no further than our digital media updates tracker, which is updated quarterly, to make sure our Business Members never miss a trick.

Q7. What are the most popular times for consumers to use social media suggesting the best times to post?

Testing different frequencies of updates and timing is another aspect of social media optimization based on consumer behaviour.

Each network tends to have a ‘sweet spot’ for frequency based on its algorithms. It used to be beneficial to post several times a day on Facebook for many brands, but with decreased organic reach, a single update tends to be more effective. We find a higher frequency on LinkedIn or Twitter tends to be more effective.

Sprout Social’s 2023 social media strategy builder compares the best times to post on social media. Compare these to your patterns of posting and consider how you could post differently.

Each network tends to have a ‘sweet spot’ for frequency based on their algorithm and the most common times for consumer usage. It used to be beneficial to post several times a day on Facebook for many brands, but with decreased organic reach, a single update tends to be more effective.

We find a higher frequency on LinkedIn or Twitter tends to be more effective. The results from Instagram and Facebook show a clear preference for around midweek at midday, so you should consider this when scheduling your post updates.
