What is IoT?The Internet of things could be defined as the technology concerned with connecting the devices with each other to facilitate communication between them. The devices that are connected will be able to share the information that can be used as the input by any device that is dependent on the other devices for input. It is called the Internet of things as similar to the Internet; this technology ensures the networking among the devices.
This technology makes it possible to interact with the device remotely. The important thing is that it can build a centralized system from where all the devices can be controlled. The juice of IoT can be enjoyed either by being in the same network or on the public network. The type of device takes the input accordingly from the other device and gives the appropriate output.
List of Important IoT ServicesInternet of things is supposed to make devices to be smart by enhancing their efficiency. Various Industries and domains have leveraged this technology in order to make the task easier. Below are some of the important services provided by virtue of the Internet of things.
1) Medical treatment 2) Remote controlIoT lets us control the devices that are located geographically far away. It is the feature of devices connected through IoT that they can take input from the other devices that are connected through the internet. Commonly the mobile phones are being used commonly to send instructions to the device remotely. In such cases, usually, the Internet is preferred, while if the devices are connected to the same network, they can communicate using WiFi.
3) Enhancing Lightning ExperienceIoT can be used to bring several functionalities to make your experience and interaction with light-emitting devices the best. We can consider making the lights glow so that it does light up only when someone is walking, which could lead to saving lots to power consumption. It can be achieved by making the lighting devices smart enough to understand when to glow and follow a pattern.
4) Detecting Machine failureThe machines use these days are way too complex to understand. By making the use of IoT, a system could be developed that can detect the failure in the machines. Such machines are used to alert the user regarding the improper working of any part of the device that will be helpful to ensure the quality of the product. It can also lead to prevent the users of the machine from a fatal accident.
5) Developing an optimal indoor surrounding 6) Integration with AI applicationArtificial intelligence is the next big thing, as almost all smart devices use it to enhance efficiency. Everything You Need To Know About Quibi
Quibi is yet another video-streaming service founded by a titan of the entertainment industry. Jeffrey Katzenberg has some serious Hollywood clout as chairman of Disney during its animation renaissance and co-founder of DreamWorks Animation. While Katzenberg certainly has the credentials, how does Quibi hope to differentiate itself in an already over-crowded field? Read on to find out what Quibi is all about and whether or not you should subscribe.
What Does Quibi Even Mean?Quibi stands for “quick bites” and doubles as the ethos of the entire platform. Quibi is hoping to pioneer a new way of consuming television. All of the content on Quibi will take the form of short, episodic TV and movies divided into “chapters.” This means that viewers can watch an episode from start to finish in five to ten minutes.
The idea stems from the fact that most people have periodic downtime in their day. Whether that’s on their daily commute to work or while they’re putting together something for dinner, Quibi hopes to fill these gaps in our day with content. Because Quibi is designed to be watched in moments of spontaneity, Quibi is only available on mobile devices.
What Kind of Content Will Quibi Have?Quibi isn’t going to simply chop up existing TV shows into more manageable run times. Instead, Quibi is investing heavily into original content made specifically for this new format. With approximately $1.75 billion to play with, Quibi is courting big name stars and creative talent to develop their shows. With that sort of cash, Quibi is aiming to cover all of the bases.
Are cooking shows your thing? How about immersive prestige dramas? Are you a reality junkie? Do you love to laugh? What about being scared senseless? Quibi is aiming to scratch virtually every entertainment itch you can imagine.
Furthermore, Quibi will also feature non-scripted content such as documentaries and shows dedicated to news and popular culture. At launch, Quibi will be home to approximately 50 different shows, but expect that number to increase as time goes on.
One of the most interesting facets of Quibi is its unique approach to the way we hold our devices. Quibi employs “Turnstyle,” a sort of pan-and-scan technique that seamlessly makes the best use of your screen real estate, whether you’re holding it in landscape or portrait.
Criticisms of QuibiDespite being only a few days old, Quibi already has its critics. The biggest complaint about the new streaming service seems to be the fact that Quibi is available exclusively for mobile devices. Because of this, Quibi is not available on TVs in any way, shape or form. There is no Quibi app available for Android TV or other smart TV platforms. Additionally, there are no apps for the Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, Roku, game consoles or other streaming boxes. Furthermore, Quibi does not support Chromecast or AirPlay, so you can forget about casting your Quibi shows to your TV.
Quibi Pricing StructureUnlike other short-form video platforms like YouTube and TikTok, Quibi is a premium service. This means that there is no free option, so if you want to watch, you’re going to have to pony up those credit card details. That being said, Quibi is a bit cheaper than the competition. Quibi subscribers have a choice of two pricing tiers.
The base option is $4.99 per month; however, you’re going to have to sit through the occasional ad. Alternatively, you can opt for the premium tier which will run you $7.99 per month. These prices aren’t exactly cheap, and the folks at Quibi seem to recognize that. Because of this, Quibi is offering a 90-day free trial in the hopes of getting you hooked. But be quick – the 90-day free trial expires at the end of April.
How Do I Get Quibi? As we mentioned earlier, Quibi has been designed exclusively for mobile devices, and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon. For better or worse, this means that everything Quibi has to offer is going to be delivered to you solely through the screen of your phone.

Marketing Automation: What You Need To Know
Marketing automation is quickly becoming crucial for businesses to be successful in their marketing efforts. So what is it?
Marketing automation is a subset of customer relationship management (CRM) and is designed to replace marketing tasks and processes that would otherwise be done manually. These are the tasks that, without automation, are time-consuming and prone to human error. This, of course, leaves customers or potential customers frustrated, and results in decreased conversion rates.
According to Aberdeen Group, “Marketing Lead Management Report” (2012), “companies using marketing automation see 53% higher conversion rates from initial response-to-MQL and a revenue growth rate that is 3.1% higher than non-users.”
So what are some of the biggest concerns and barriers for marketers and companies looking for a marketing automation platform? Marketing automation can be expensive, there are many options, and several of these automation tools offer the answer to one automation need such as email marketing, but don’t have an “all-in-one” solution.
Other issues that arise when companies are looking for a solution are budget constraints and ease of use. Let’s compare some of the tools and their offerings: Marketo, GetResponse, and HubSpot.
PriceWhen it comes to price, GetResponse offers competitive pricing and is much more affordable than Marketo or HubSpot. GetResponse’s prices range from $15 to $799 per month. The best part is that they don’t require contracts and allow users to cancel anytime. They price match the number of subscribers that a business has, allowing for businesses to scale, only increasing spend as their business grows.
HubSpot is also priced competitively, although it’s range is a bit higher than Get Response. However, HubSpot charges a one-time fee of $600, $3,000, or $5,000 (depending on the package you choose) for onboarding. After you pay the onboarding fee their cost ranges from $200 per month for the basic subscription to $2,400 per month for an enterprise package. They also match their pricing to the number of subscribers a business has, but their cost starts much higher. Hubspot’s major benefit is pre-built integrations with popular business apps and includes these custom integrations to their users as part of the service.
Marketo is the most expensive of the three. However, their system is broken into four offerings that can be purchased separately or combined. The four offerings are marketing automation, real-time personalization, marketing management, and consumer engagement. Utilizing these four services together is typically the most suitable for larger enterprises. In fact, their packages start at roughly $2,000 per month and get as high as $12,000 per month. Again, this is definitely a tool for a much larger organization. They also integrate with SalesForce, making it a better option for large businesses that are already using SalesForce CRM.
Ease of UseA lot of companies looking into marketing automation lack the in-house talent to actually manage the automation. This is a major problem for businesses already trying to weigh the cost of marketing automation against the return.
GetResponse is built to be more user-friendly. It provides simplicity in customizing newsletters, landing pages, and autoresponders. The platform offers over 500 responsive web template designs, customizable landing page templates, and action-based autoresponders. With so many out of the box solutions, most important tasks can be done without the need for a MA software specialist. This is definitely the better option for businesses operating with less technological proficiency in the marketing team.
HubSpot is also an intuitive platform. They are not as simple as the drag-and-drop function that GetResponse has, but they are still simple to use. Where it may lack slightly in ease of use, it makes up for in tracking. HubSpot allows users to not only create email marketing campaigns, landing pages, and auto-responders, but they have easy to understand and manage analytics for each. HubSpot is the best for mid-size companies that may or may not have an analyst or IT department in-house, but still have a slightly larger budget for marketing automation.
Marketo is by far the more complex of the tools mentioned here, but is much more suitable when working with teams. It offers fully responsive landing pages and landing page editing tools that allow users to save and collaborate. This promotes ease of use when working with a team, but may not be as practical a smaller company. When it comes to automated responses, Marketo is much more complex, requiring a series of steps to create and save automated functions. Again, Marketo is ideal for larger teams working with a variety of marketing roles with varying expertise and responsibilities.
Overall, when choosing a marketing automation platform, it is important to honestly appraise your in-house resources. If you have a sophisticated and dynamic marketing team with a larger budget, Marketo may be right for you. If you are a smaller company that is trying to scale with a less developed marketing team, GetResponse is probably the choice for you. Whatever your situation is, don’t ignore marketing automation. It is important and available for companies of all sizes and marketing abilities.

Xiaomi Mi3 Everything You Need To Know!
At today’s launch here in Beijing Xiaomi Co-founder and CEO Lei Jun took to the stage and announced the Xiaomi Mi3 Android smartphone and the 47-inch Xiaomi TV, sorry guys there was no Xiaomi Tablet, Xiaomi laptop, Xiaomi games console or Red Rice WCDMA announced.
So what can we tell you about the Xiaomi Mi3 flagship phone?
Xiaomi Mi3 Design
The tipsters, insiders and sketchers got it right! The Xiaomi Mi3 does have a kind of Nokia Lumia look to it. It’s a design I secretly hoped for and I have not been disappointed when the final design flashed up on screen or I finally got the phone in hand!
The body of the Mi3 is alloy and measure in at 144 x 73.6 x 8.1mm. A large 3050mAh battery is sealed in to the stylish body (it is not user removable) and the SIM card fits inside a tray in the top of the device.
Multiple colours will be available and there is also an iPad style Smart Cover available for the phone to which protects the front and rear and also acts as a stand while watching movies.
5-inch 1080 display
The screen size and resolution didn’t come as a surprise either, and measures in at 5-inch with a FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a pixel density of 441ppi.
No mention of if Xiaomi have decided to use Gorilla Glass or similar, however the OGS panel will still function accurately with wet hands or while wearing gloves. This isn’t to say the phone is waterproof, but if you happen to have wet hands or it is raining you can use the phone.
After having some hands on time with the Mi3 I can tell you the screen is a bright and crisp as any other 1080 phone, but no more so.
Performance
We had heard that Xiaomi would use either a Tegra 4 processor or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, what we didn’t expect though was for 2 versions of the Mi3 with choices of both!
International Xiaomi Fans will only be interested in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 unit which works with China Unicom here, and will support most international bands. The Tegra 4 version of the phone will only be of use to Chinese customers who use China Mobile’s own brand of 3G.
Interestingly Lei Jun mentioned that the Mi3 uses the most powerful version of the Snapdragon 800 CPU (8974AB), and even mentioned that the processor Xiaomi has chosen is faster the the S800 Samsung will have announced they will use.
Gizchina News of the weekTo show us how powerful Antutu scores of both Mi3 models were shown showing that the Tegra 4 model is the most powerful with a score of 36,582 while the S800 model get’s 36,026.
The Qualcomm version will run a 2.3Ghz processor with Adreno 330 graphics.
Both phones have 2GB DDR3 RAM and use faster 120mps memory for storage.
Cameras
The rear camera on the Mi3 is a 13 mega-pixel sensor from the Sony stable with an Aperture of F2.2, 28mm wide angle lens. Images taken with the rear camera are really bright and crisp with tons of detail.
The front camera isn’t as great as we had hoped and is just a 2 mega-pixel sensor , but it has a larger 30mm wide lens, F2.2 aperture and the camera app features a more tuned version of the current ‘Beauty function’ to enhance facial features.
Speaking of the camera app, it has been updated with more adjustments than before allowing you to tweak every setting to get the perfect shot.
Other features
Other great features include the 3050mAh battery, Cirrus Logic and Dirac HD stereo sound, and a new immersion feature which changes the intensity of the phone vibration depending on what is shown on the screen (a great feature for games).
Like the Xiaomi Mi2A the Wifi has been updated to the faster 5Ghz frequency as well as 2.4G.
There is also built-in NFC, and enhanced GPS which will use the built in gyroscopic sensor to direct you if you loose GPS while heading in a tunnel.
USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, WIFI Direct, Mirracast and more are also included in the feature packed new phone.
Pricing and availability
The base model of the Xiaomi Mi3 with 16GB of memory will go on sale for 1999 Yuan ($320) while the top of the range model with 64GB is 2499 Yuan ($408). Both versions will be on sale in China for those of us with F codes from mid October.
There was no mention of an International release, but when Hugo Barra took to the stage he did say he planned spreading the word of MIUI and Xiaomi around the world, so it is likely still on the cards!
Minecraft Mending Enchantment – All You Need To Know
Minecraft Mending enchantment – All you need to know
Mending is undoubtedly one of the best enchantments in Minecraft, and many survival players will endeavour to enchant all of their eligible items with it as soon as possible. We take a look at why this is, and why you should be doing it too.
The Mending enchantment pretty much means you don’t have to worry about the durability of all your favorite tools. I mean, there’s nothing worse than mining away with that precious Diamond Pickaxe you spent hours (and plenty of Iron Picks) to get, just for it to suddenly shatter and disappear. But how does it work? What tools and items can it be used on? And what other enchantments should you put with it?
All kitted out in Mending-enchanted armor
How does the Minecraft Mending enchantment work?
As mentioned, Mending will help you keep your most precious tools and items a little bit longer. In fact, if you’re careful and clever, with Mending, your items may never perish. This is because, if you are holding, wearing or using an item with the Mending enchantment, every time you earn Exp, some of it will be consumed by the item in exchange for an increase in durability.
This means Mending does have two downsides, but they’re worth it. One is that you’ll earn less Exp, so your grind to build levels will take a bit longer. The other is that your item can still get worn out all the time you aren’t earning Exp, for example, if you’re mining stone, iron or gold. However, the Mending enchantment only applies to items in your main hand, off-hand or armor slots, so if you’re specifically grinding for Exp, you can just remove any Mending items from these slots.
Which Minecraft items can be enchanted with Mending?
Mending is one of Minecraft’s enchantments that can be applied to most items. While, for example, the likes of Looting and Fire Aspect are specific to swords, and feather Falling to Boots, Mending can be used on tools, armor and even Elytra. The list below shows every item that can be enhanced with the Mending enchantment.

How to Get Mending in Minecraft
There is a catch to getting Mending, though. Known as a “treasure enchantment”, Mending cannot be obtained via an Enchanting Table. So, while the enchanted can be applied to all above items in survival Minecraft, it must be done using a Mending Book and an anvil.
The easiest way to get Mending enchanted items is to find them in Shipwrecks, Strongholds, raids, and fishing, though these aren’t guaranteed and you’ll only get one at a time. You can also trade with Villagers if you come across one with a weapon or tool already enchanted with Mending. As we’ll show you shortly, though, the easiest way to guarantee yourself the Mending enchantment is to buy the book from a Librarian Villager. All in all, while it is a very valuable enchantment, it can be difficult to obtain.
How to guarantee Mending from a Librarian
The below steps outline the easiest and fastest method of trading with a Librarian for a Mending book. There are other ways, such as breeding Villagers and building a Villager Trading hall, levelling up different Librarians at the same time, or healing a Zombie Villager, but we’re keeping it simple with the best starter method for finding Mending as early in your survival world as possible.
1.
It takes a Village
Once you have come across a village – either naturally, or by using the /locate command – ensure there are actually villagers around. If they’ve all been killed off or you’ve found an Abandoned Village, Villagers won’t spawn there naturally.
2.
Find or “employ” a Librarian
If you’re lucky, there might already be a Librarian in your village. If not, you’ll need to find a Villager with whom you haven’t already traded and turn them into a Librarian. To do this, simply replace their work block with a Lectern. For example, if the Villager is a Farmer, destroy all nearby Composters until it loses its profession. Then place a Lectern nearby, and the Villager should take that work block instead. Do not trade with the Villager yet!
We recommend trying to block a Villager into a house or similar small area before placing the lectern down, so that it stays nearby and doesn’t wander off!
3.
Hope for a Mending offer
This next bit is a bit of a slog, but (unless you’re incredibly lucky) is still far and away the quickest method of guaranteeing yourself a Mending trade. Once you’ve trapped your Villager and placed the Lectern, check its trades. If you’ve got Mending, then you can trade! And you’re incredibly lucky. Chances are, though, the Villager will be offering up a different Enchanted Book, or maybe no enchanted book at all. That’s fine. All you need to do is break the Lectern and place it again, and the Villager’s trade will refresh.
4.
Repeat until you get it!
Continue breaking and replacing the Lectern until the Villager offers you Mending! Again, this can take some time, but you will eventually be offered a Mending book. The cost of the book will vary, so if you get an expensive one, you can risk it and keep trying for a cheaper trade. And however tempting another offer may be, do not trade with the Villager, because as soon as you do, their trades will be locked in and will no longer refresh.
OK, if it’s really tempting, take it, go back to step 2, and get yourself another Librarian!
5.
Trade!
When you do eventually get offered a Book of Mending, you’ll want to trade with the Villager. This will lock in their trades, and you’ll be able to keep coming back to them for more Mending books – one for each of your best tools and items! To buy an Enchanted Book from a Villager, you’ll need Emeralds and a Book.
Take a look at our guide to making a Minecraft Book for that latter, and this one on how to earn Minecraft Emeralds fast.
How to apply the Mending Enchantment
As mentioned above, you’ll need an anvil to apply Mending to an item. This does, however, mean that you can add Mending to an item that has already been enchanted, so our top tip here would be to get any other enchantments you might want first, then add your Mending book. You can only enchant an unenchanted item using the Enchantment Table, but you can combine enchanted items together or with a book thanks to the Anvil.
1.
Equip yourself
Of course, you’ll need all your items at the ready. The Mending book you’ll have obtained from one of the methods above, the item you’ll be enchanting, and an anvil. You’ll want to craft an Anvil using four Iron Ingots and three Iron Blocks – a total of 31 Iron Ingots. You’ll also need Exp levels, but how many will depend on the item you’re enchanting.
If you’re adding Mending to an already enchanted item, it will require more levels.
2.
Place items onto the Anvil
You can also name your new item in an anvil, but this will require one additional Exp level. Also, if you’re combining two enchanted items, try swapping them over to make sure you’re getting the cheapest deal!
3.
Take your new item out for a spin!
That’s it! Once you’ve checked everything over, simply remove the item from the third Anvil box, and you’ll have your new Mending item in your hand.
If you want to add any more enchantments to it in the future, simply pop it back in the Anvil with another, compatible enchanted item to roll them into one.
What other enchantments should I put with Mending?
Mending can be put with almost any other enchantment, though you cannot enchant a bow with both Mending and Infinity, for obvious reasons. Though, of course, we’d love an almost indestructible bow and never-ending arrows.
Other than the Infinity incompatibility, you can pair Mending with any other enchantment available on the item you are enchanting. The best and most obvious to start with is Unbreaking, which can be paired with Mending on all the items above. Unbreaking gives items a chance of not losing durability when in use. For example, a Pickaxe may retain durability when breaking a block, or a piece of armor may not lost durability when hit. As you can imagine, then, this is the perfect compliment to Mending to both prolong the life of your items that Exp coming as much as possible.
From there, it depends on the tool and what you’re going to be using it for. For Pickaxes, our other favorite enchantments are Silk Touch and Fortune. These two are incompatible with one another, so you might want two separate pickaxes. Fortune is another excellent enchantment to get as early as possible, as it has a chance of increasing ore drops – more Diamonds! Silk Touch, on the other hand, drops the exact item, so you can use it to gather the ore block itself, perhaps to save inventory space and use Fortune on it when you get back to base. Silk Touch can also be used on other tools to break Grass Blocks, Bee Nests, Amethyst Buds and much, much more.
On a Sword, why not consider Fire Aspect? A great enchantment for getting ready cooked food from mob kills. And, on a Fishing Rod, add Lure and Luck of the Sea for faster fishing and better loot.
