Suggested January 2024 15 Free Newsletter Templates You Can Print Or Email

Not everyone is a graphics designer, nor should they be! However, we are all expected to produce professional looking content for our organizations. That’s especially true of the humble newsletter. Despite the world going digital, the newsletter remains one of the best ways to keep your stakeholders informed of what’s going on.

Whether it’s a business, school, charity or any other organized activity, a snazzy newsletter informs and impresses the people who support you. The good news is that there are plenty of free newsletter templates on the web you can use for both email and printed newsletters. We’ve selected 15 of the best ones, covering various use cases.

Table of Contents

Of course, you don’t have to stick to the intended purpose of the template. The only iron-clad rule is that Comic Sans is never OK.

Class Newsletter – MS Office Templates

There are a lot of class newsletter templates that look like they were done as a kindergarten project, but this snazzy template from Microsoft manages to tread the line between crayon and crayon-inspired perfectly. It’s fun without being painful to look at, which many designers just can’t seem to grasp.

If you’re a teacher who’d like to keep parents in the loop about what’s happening in their children’s daily school life, this template will both save you a lot of time and make your whole operation seem that much more professional.

School Newsletter – MS Office Templates

This school newsletter stands out for its bold use of colors, modern professional look and supreme readability. This design would actually work well for all sorts of use cases, where you want to have an official look without coming across as stuffy and boring.

The story page is designed in such a way that you can easily clone it for longer newsletters, but if your newsletter is fairly frequent, this two-page free newsletter template leaves plenty of space to write concise stories for your audience.

Nonprofit Newsletter – MS Office Templates

This template has a beefy download size, but it’s justified when you take into account how much went into this template’s design.

Nonprofit organizations live or die by the grace of donors and potential donors. They have to get the message across quickly, while telling stories that inspire and engender sympathy. Existing donors need to know that their money is being put to good use and potential donors must be convinced of the same.

This template nails it, especially since the front page prominently leaves a space for your most impactful picture and a beautifully readable summary of the contents inside. If you can’t grab someone’s attention with that, then we don’t know what to say.

This free newsletter template would also work well for any aspirational type of project. Where the idea is to convey a sense of positivity. You should also consider matching the main color of the template to the main color of your chosen photo. It’s one of the main reasons this template works so well in the example.

Weekly Newsletter – MS Office Templates

We’re not sure what makes this template a “weekly” newsletter, but that wonderful minimalist letterhead does so much with so little. If you have the right logo for it, this template evokes a health and wellness vibe that anyone from organic farmers to the local family-owned health food store could use.

The color choice here is sublime and we’d recommend leaving the shade unchanged if you do opt to change the colors themselves.

Technology Business Newsletter – MS Office Templates

You have to hand it to the designers at Microsoft, they sure do know how to instantly communicate “tech newsletter” at a glance. It’s like they’ve done this before, or something.

Executive Newsletter – MS Office Templates

While this template is billed as an “executive” newsletter, we think it’s better suited to startups or crowdfunding projects. It has that hip look you’d expect from the disruptor set. It’s those cool geometric shapes that give it the not-quite-corporate tech-startup vibe.

It’s especially perfect if you want to keep the hype going, but don’t want to give too many details away. This free newsletter template is low on space for story copy, but that’s OK if you don’t have much to say right now.

Newsletter (Bars Design) -MS Office Templates

This has a retro-corporate vibe from the 90s that we just love. Maybe it’s ironic nostalgia talking, but this feels like reading a computer manual from the days of Windows 98.

Your older tech audiences will appreciate it. Also, this is the perfect template if you don’t want to use any photos. We recommend replacing the graphics only with retro clipart of a similar design. Otherwise it spoils the whole thing.

There’s tons of space for detailed stories here, yet the space has been used in such a way that nothing feels cramped. This is one of the best classic newsletter templates we’ve yet seen!

Restaurant – MS Office Templates

It’s amazing how a bit of visual language can evoke the other senses. You can almost smell herbs and spices from this template. Of course, if you have your own saucy professional food image for your foodie newsletter or food hospitality business then it will still go perfectly with the chosen typeface and color scheme – the included photos are however top-notch.

The newsletter almost comes off as a menu from an upmarket eatery. Interestingly enough, some restaurants have taken to publishing their on mini-magazine slash menu, and this newsletter channels that style perfectly.

Newsletter – MS Office Templates

Rather cheekily, Microsoft has named this free newsletter template simply “Newsletter”, but looking at it that might be appropriate. This is quite possibly the most newslettery-newsletter on this list.

All jokes aside, it’s a minimalist masterpiece. Text is neatly divided into efficient columns, with simple blocks of color and good font choices. It all comes together as the perfect generic newsletter. It’s even safe to change the default colors to whatever complementary shades you prefer. It won’t do anything to hurt the overall aesthetic.

If you want a template that gives you plenty of room to clearly tell multiple stories and don’t want to waste any time customizing it, this is the template for you.

Newsletter (Black Tie) – MS Office Templates

There’s a saying that goes “the medium is the message”, which basically means that sometimes aspects of a medium become associated with the typical messages of a time and place.

Think about black and white films. When modern movie makers choose to make a film in black and white, it’s usually to evoke a sense of classic cinema. The people who made those classic cinema titles didn’t have a choice in the matter: color film hadn’t been invented yet.

Which brings us to this “black tie” newsletter. If you’re looking to create a newsletter for your literature club or other artsy endeavor, then this newsletter has exactly the right mix of legibility and classic handbill design to keep things classy.

As a bonus, you can cheaply print this design using a mono laser printer while losing nothing of the original charm.

The holidays are tough when you can’t get to see all the family you want to, but with a nice newsletter you can keep the extended relations informed of what’s been happening in your lives. Sure, people have Facebook and other social media now, but a personal newsletter has that much more sentimental value.

The problem is that looking through free newsletter templates with festive flair invariably means looking at incredibly ugly, garish designs. This template however, shows that you can keep the Santa without the Comic Sans and crayon art. It looks really classy, while still being filled with yuletide cheer.

Even better, you don’t have to think up topics to populate it with. The template includes detailed ideas for what to include in each section.

Floral Newsletter – Brother Creative Center

The above free templates from Microsoft are pretty easy to use. You simply have to download them as Word files and proceed as usual. While Brother has been nice enough to provide their newsletter templates for anyone to use, you also have to use their own online editor. Luckily it’s pretty straightforward and the resulting PDF is nice and crisp. Good for print or email.

This particular newsletter provides a lovely floral backdrop, with space for two photos, cropped into circular frames. The suggested use is for something like a spa or other wellness business, but this one-page newsletter design could be good for any “softer” enterprise that wants to spread some quick information around to interested parties.

It’s also eye-catching as a print flyer you can stack in-store or wherever people hang around and wait. Like a doctor’s office.

This is another corker from the Brother Creative Center. If you have or plan to have an AirBnB, then this is the perfect newsletter template to let people staying over know what’s available to do, and what the latest happenings are with your pad.

It’s also perfect as a newsletter to email to people who have signed your visitor’s book over the years. With an eye on enticing them back for another stay. Of course, your photography game needs to be on-point, but if you’ve got the pictures for it, this is the perfect template to slot them into.

Hello Frost – Adobe Spark

This is one of two Adobe Spark newsletter templates on this list. Like the ones from Brother, you need to use Adobe’s own online editor. In addition, unless you have a paid subscription, you’ll have to put up with a tiny Adobe Spark watermark in the corner of your newsletter. It really isn’t obtrusive at all however and given how nice some of these templates are, it’s a small sacrifice.

Speaking of which, Hello Frost immediately caught our eye as the perfect template to show off your photography and let people know about the interesting places you’ve been and things you’ve seen.

Of course, the default template has been designed with winter/autumn colors, but you can change that in a jiffy. It’s artsy, but still very readable and makes for a great choice if you plan on making frequent small releases.

Literature Monitor – Adobe Spark

Do people even read anymore? Well, your friends do and they are just dying to hear what your latest thoughts are about the world of literature this week. If you want to evoke the smell and crackle of well-loved paper books, this template from Adobe Spark is just the ticket.

You could imagine Hemingway himself grunting in mild approval if this was found in his postbox. Although, ironically, this highly-legible layout is best suited to those who can be parsimonious with the verbiage. If you get what we’re saying.

Extra! Extra! Read All About it!

Wow, what a treasure trove of snazzy, free newsletter templates for every occasion. Tweak them to your taste and then enjoy the money you’ve saved on hiring a graphic designer, while making everyone think you’ve gone pro with your publication.

The actual writing is all on you however, we can’t help you with that.

10 Best Free Word Processors You Can Use

Microsoft Word has almost become synonymous with word processors, but its high pricing has stopped many users from using its services. Naturally, a lot of free word processors have come up with similar features and compatibility with DOC/DOCX format. You can use these word processors online and some even offer full-fledged offline desktop apps. Whether you want to write or edit a long-drawn document, you can do everything using these word processors for free. So on that note, let’s go ahead and find out which free word processors are worth using in 2023.

Best Free Word Processors (2023)

1. Google Docs

If you are looking for a free word processor that can be used on any platform then Google Docs is the perfect pick. Unlike other online word processors, Google Docs is actually pretty feature-packed and supports offline writing too which can be enabled through a Chrome extension. There are a ton of third-party add-ons just like Microsoft Word Add-ins that can be integrated to bring more functionality.

Having said all of that, keep in mind, Google Docs does not sit well with MS Word formatting, although it supports DOC/DOCX format. But the good part is that you have the option to export the file in PDF format. All in all, if you generally work on web documents and want a solution that works well and for free then Google Docs is highly recommended.

2. Microsoft Word 365

The desktop version of Microsoft Word charges a sky-high price and Microsoft is aware of it. That’s why the company has developed a free version of Microsoft Word and other Office apps that can be only accessed through the web. It means that you can’t use the free version of Microsoft Office while you are offline.

Apart from that, bear in mind, formatting breaks on the online version if you try to import an MS Word 2023 file. Simply put, Microsoft Word 365 can be a great free word processor if you don’t have a complex project at hand. For basic stuff, it’s quite good and does the job well.

Check Out Microsoft Word 365 (Free, Premium subscription starts at $9.99 per month)

3. LibreOffice

Download (Free)

4. Apache OpenOffice

Not to mention, Apache OpenOffice is compatible with DOC/DOCX files, and rarely would you find broken formatting while moving between different programs. In addition to that, OpenOffice also supports a huge number of other file formats including PDF, SWF, PPT, and more.

Download (Free)

5. Polaris Office

Polaris Office is a pretty popular word processor and it’s strictly not a free word processor like the other ones mentioned on this list. However, the best part about Polaris Office is that the company offers a limited free version that brings enough features to suit the needs of most individual users. Basically, you will not have to pay a high subscription fee to complete your work.

If you are someone who want support for add-ons and diagrams then you can opt for the Enterprise plan which is also quite cheaper than other solutions. When it comes to features under the free version, I would say Polaris Office offers all the essential tools that one might expect from a capable word processor.

Download (Free, Paid plan starts at $39.99/year)

6. Zoho Writer

In any discussion of word processors, rarely would you find people talk about Zoho Writer. But Zoho Writer is actually a really good word processor that is completely free — both online and in the offline desktop version. What I love about Zoho Writer is that it’s quite clean with all the basic features and toolset required to edit a word document. Don’t expect MS Word level of features, but it’s there with Microsoft Office 365 version.

You can insert images, change indentation position, change fonts, choose a template, collaborate with multiple users in real-time, and do much more. Not to mention, Zoho Writer has a special engine to convert DOC/DOCX documents and keep that original formatting intact so that is great. All in all, I would say, just go ahead and create a free Zoho account and you will be able to access its word processor for free.

7. Dropbox Paper

While Dropbox is moving many of its products behind a paywall, it’s still offering Dropbox Paper for free to its users. In case you are unaware, Dropbox Paper is the company’s lite word processor where the focus is real-time collaboration, access to to-dos, and managing tasks. In addition, you can add images, videos to the document, create table, add calendar timelines, and do much more.

What I like is that it also supports adding code snippets which many IT organizations would find helpful. There is also support for bulleted and numbered list. To sum up, if you are not looking for a traditional word processor and something that brings team members on one page then Dropbox Paper is an amazing free tool that you can get behind.

8. Apple Pages

Comes preinstalled

9. FreeOffice TextMaker

FreeOffice TextMaker is a word processor that is feature-packed, lightweight, free, and one that works really well. It includes all the three standard office programs including a word processor. In terms of feature set, FreeOffice TextMaker is right there with LibreOffice and Free Office. I love the fact that you have similar-looking tools and features which many would appreciate.

Coming to compatibility, FreeOffice TextMaker has robust support for MS Office file formats, and better Office XML compatibility. Apart from that, it includes perks like multiple language dictionaries for more efficient spellchecking and smart indentation. To sum up, FreeOffice TextMaker is another free word processor with desktop-level features and you should definitely give it a shot.

Download (Free)

10. WPS Office

In addition to having all the essential document creation/editing abilities, WPS Office includes hundreds of free templates and fonts. The free version lets you create and edit documents in MS Office compatible formats. To sum up, on the utility side, WPS Office is really good and a lightweight word processor, but on the privacy front, it leaves a lot to be desired.

15 Best Laptops For Students You Can Buy In India

It’s that time of the year again when many of you a preparing to head out to college for the first time and are in the market for a decent laptop which suits your needs. Since the laptop market is chock full of a variety of options, it could get a little overbearing for some, who aren’t really in touch with the latest developments in the space. Fret not, we’re here to help. We’ve curated a list of the best laptops for students available in the Indian market today, which perfectly fit the requirements for a variety of use cases and academic streams. Depending on your particular use case, we’re sure that you’ll be able to find an appropriate system which will serve you well through your college years. Without further ado, here are the best laptops for students in the Indian market.

Best Laptops for Students:

Best Laptops for Programming Students

If you’re a programming student, you’re probably looking for a durable work horse which is light, portable, and can easily handle all your programming related needs. However, we understand that not all programming students have the same requirements from their system and while web/app development students might require a very basic system, game development students will definitely require something more powerful with a dedicated graphics processing unit. Keeping that in mind, here are the three best laptops for programming students, depending on different use cases:

1. Apple MacBook Air 13.3″

Starting off with the quintessential favorite of developers in our office – the Apple MacBook Air – which is a rather capable system, despite the older hardware. The MacBook Air is great for both app and web developers, being particularly useful for those looking to develop iOS app, as you can only run Xcode on a Mac OS X device. While there is a way to create a virtual environment to run Xcode on a Windows machine, why go through the hassle when you can easily do it on a MacBook Air. The system covers all the basics, offering portability, a decent sized screen, a tactile keyboard, and great battery life, which makes it the perfect fit for both app and web developers.

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 59,790)

2. Dell Inspiron 5370

Another great option for both app and web developers is the Dell Inspiron 5370, which offers better hardware than the MacBook Air but comes with Windows 10, so you won’t be developing iOS apps on the device anytime soon. Much like the MacBook Air, the Dell Inspiron 5370 comes in a rather compact package, making it quite portable, but still manages to cram in enough hardware to power through any web/app development related tasks you throw at it. You’ll definitely get better performance, the same sized screen as the MacBook Air, a tactile keyboard, however, the battery life on the device won’t be able to match up to that of the MacBook Air.

Specifications: 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics 620

3. HP Pavilion Power 15

While both of the aforementioned laptops are great for web and app development, they aren’t powerful enough for game development. So if you’re thinking of getting into game development, you’ll need something a bit more powerful, like the HP Pavilion Power 15. The HP Pavilion Power 15 packs in a decent set of internals which will be capable of running game development and rendering software without a hitch. The laptop also has a bigger screen, which will also be quite beneficial if you’re going to be developing games. On top of that, its black and green color scheme looks absolutely stunning and gives it an understated gamer-y vibe.

Specifications: Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 76,165)

Best Laptops for Video Editing Students 1. Apple MacBook Pro 15″

As I mentioned earlier, if you’re going to be editing videos using Final Cut Pro then you’re gonna need an Apple device. That said, the first recommendation for video editing students is obviously the Apple MacBook Pro 15″, which packs in substantial hardware which will breeze through editing 4K videos without breaking a sweat. The MacBook Pro also offers a great display, amazing battery life, and portability, which means you can carry around your video editing rig anywhere you want.

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Radeon Pro 555 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 1,87,900)

2. MSI GS65-8RE

In case you prefer Adobe Premier Pro over Final Cut Pro and are looking for a slim and portable video editing rig, then you just can’t go wrong with the MSI GS65-8RE. The GS65 from MSI packs in the latest and greatest in computer hardware, which will allow it to power through editing 4K videos quite easily. Even though it’s a gaming machine, the laptop has a very understated design aesthetic which makes it quite appropriate for professional use. The MSI GS65 has powerful hardware, a brilliant display, a ton of connectivity options (unlike the MacBook Pro), and a very efficient thermal solution which will keep the laptop cool under intense load.

Specifications: 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 1,69,990)

3. Asus ROG Strix GL702VS

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 12GB RAM, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 1,79,999)

Best Laptops for Graphics Designing Students

Much like video editing students, graphics designing students will also require a fairly powerful laptop, but their priorities will vary slightly. Unlike video editing students, who require the latest process and tons of RAM, if you’re a graphics designing student, you’ll require a great graphics processing unit, a fast Solid State Drive, and a brilliant screen with exceptional color accuracy. Depending on your budget, you can choose one of the following options and we can assure you that you won’t be disappointed by their performance:

1. HP Spectre x360

Specifications: 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 1,58,999)

2. Dell Inspiron 7560

The Dell Inspiron 7560 is another great option which offers a beautiful bezel-less display at a slightly lower price tag. Since the Inspiron 7560 is relatively cheaper than the HP Spectre x360, it packs in a 15.6-inch full HD display, but that doesn’t make it a bad option. The display is quite vibrant and offers great color accuracy, which is essential for all graphics designers out there. Hardware wise, the Inspiron 7560 is pretty powerful and won’t have any issues running all the popular graphic designing software out there.

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 78,490)

3. Asus Vivobook S15

Another great option with a beautiful display and powerful hardware is the Asus Vivobook S15, which packs in a 15.6-inch full HD display with slim bezels. The display can get pretty bright and offers great color accuracy, making it a perfect fit for graphic designers. Unlike the Dell Inspiron 7560, the Asus Vivobook S15 offers the latest hardware and a pretty substantial SSD which will definitely give a boost to the laptop’s performance. In my opinion, the Asus Vivobook S510UN is a great choice for graphics designers looking for a slim and portable system with the latest hardware.

Specifications: 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD+1TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics

Best Laptops for Music Production Students

If you’re a music production student, you’re probably looking for a machine that is powerful enough to run your audio editing/mixing software and portable enough that you can whip it out anywhere you want and start mixing some sick beats. Sounds on point? Well, if that’s the case, you just can’t go wrong with any of the following laptops:

1. Apple MacBook Pro 13″

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch is an absolute no-brainer for music production students. You’ve probably already seen all popular electronic music producers using a MacBook to create/mix their tracks and there’s a very solid reason behind that. Not only does the MacBook Pro 13-inch offer portability and an impressive battery life, but it also is the only laptop on the list which can run Apple’s Garageband music production software – a great tool for beginners. The laptops is powerful enough to run other popular software like Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro X, making it the perfect fit for all music production students.

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus 640 graphics

2. Dell XPS 13

If you prefer Windows over macOS, then the Dell XPS 13 should be your go to choice. The laptop has the same form factor as the MacBook Pro 13-inch and packs in an amazing bezel-less display and the latest hardware. Since this is a Windows system, you won’t be able to run Garageband or Logic Pro X, but the Dell XPS 13 will easily be able to run other popular music production software like FL Studio and Ableton Live without breaking a sweat. The XPS 13 is your best bet if you don’t wish to switch to an Apple device and we’re sure that you’ll have an amazing experience with the device.

Specifications: 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel UHD graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 89,900)

3. Microsoft Surface Pro

Another great option for Windows users is Microsoft’s own Surface Pro, which is essentially a powerful tablet that has a detachable keyboard. The Surface Pro easily beats the competition when it comes to portability and it even offers great battery life. The brilliant 12.3-inch touchscreen on the device will also add onto your music production experience, providing a tactile way for you to interact with the software. Much like the XPS 13, the Surface Pro will be able to run popular music production software like FL Studio and Ableton Live, but you won’t be able to make use of Apple’s Garageband and Logic Pro X software.

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 620

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 64,830)

Best Laptop for Engineering and Architecture Students

While not all engineering and architecture students have the same requirements from their laptops, more often than not they have to run software, MATLAB,like which require significant processing power and demand a dedicated graphics. Architecture students also make use of CAD software which also demand a powerful machine in order to run smoothly. With that in mind, we’ve curated a list of the most fitting laptops that are capable of running the aforementioned software and do a whole lot more:

1. Acer Nitro 5

Since engineers and architecture students will be making use of 3D modeling software, they’ll require systems that offer a good graphics card and a decent processor. The Acer Nitro 5 is a great option, which will suit all your needs and provide enough power to run whatever software you might need to, and that too at an affordable price. On top of that, since this is a gaming machine, you’ll definitely be able to play all AAA games, provided you have the free time! Probably the only downside of this machine is that it has a very gamer-y aesthetic, which might not be the most appropriate look for a classroom presentation.

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 82,900)

2. HP Omen 15

Specifications: 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD+1TB HDD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 97,649)

3. Asus ROG Strix GL503GE

Rounding up the list is the Asus ROG Strix GL503GE which is also a gaming laptop that offers great performance and will easily be able to handle all the software you can possibly throw at it. The laptop has a beautiful 120Hz full HD display and RGB lighting on the keyboard, if you’re into that sort of a thing. Compared to the Acer Nitro 5 and the HP Omen 15, the ROG Strix GL503GE has a rather understated design on the outside, with no red accents and only the ROG logo on the lid which gives away its true nature. The Asus ROG Strix GL503GE is a great option for both engineers and architects and should be your go to choice if you’re a fan of the gamer-y design of the other two laptops.

Buy from Amazon (Rs. 99,629)
